You and Dakota stepped into the building seeing that the winged cat was at his bar post as apparently usual, talking with Angel, Charlie and Vaggie were talking with Everest and Redwood at the couch. “It's a little nicer on the inside” Dakota commented, “You didn't come in when you were with Alastor?” you asked, which she shook her head, “No, he said he can walk the rest of the way himself” she told you.
From what people have said so far about Alastor, it does seem true, even though you barely knew him and only had a single conversation with him which was on your first day here in hell. The two boys noticed you and Dakota and quickly walked over to you two, “Dakota where have you been? We were worried” Everest said quickly, hugging her, “Hey i wasn't worried, don't bring me into your shit” Dakota laughed, “Still the same”, “Just because we all ended up in hell doesn't mean we mentally changed day one”
“Physically yes” you chuckled, “It's just how hell is apparently, though the fact animal animals became more human is a new one” Angel spoke up, “Usually it's humans who come to hell and become something that animal like, dunno why tho” he added with a shrug. You just looked at him with a confused look, “Why is hell like this? It’s so confusing” and why do I look nothing like normal demons? Charlie chuckled, “I don't know, my dad just made it that way”, “Your dad?” What does her dad have to do with how people become some animal creature in hell?
Charlie nodded to your question, “My dad is you know- the king of hell?” she said, which definitely shocked you, “Wait wait wait- as in the Lucifer?” you asked. That revolution raises many questions, as to why she- the princess of hell- is running a hotel? And she's nicer than a normal demon in hell, at least from what youve seen.
Vaggie leaned her arm on the armrest on the couch, looking at you, “Yeah, Lucifer is her dad, but he isn't as scary as people say” she answered, “Hes short for sure too” Angel laughs out the comment, which made you question about the king, “If he's the king of hell and powerful or whatever, can't he just change his height when he wants to? He has the power to do that right?” you question, “Yeah but dad doesn't really like doing it all the time since it takes energy and he doesn't usually go out of the castle” Charlie spoke.
“Which usually then he forgets so i don't really remind him” she added. Which made sense, Lucifer, a creature who lived over thousands of years, forgetting something as changing his size for just a few small moments. Vaggie cleared her throat, “Well, we’ll let you four catch up on whatever needs to, if you need help with anything- everyone here is pretty much a staff member so just ask” she said, you nodded a thank you.
“I'm not really a staff member, i just get to crash here for free as the first resident” Angel corrected, “You've been around long enough to know a few things around here, Angel” Vaggie declared as she took her girlfriend’s hand and walked somewhere else leaving you and the dogs in the main lobby, and of course Husk and Angel at the bar area. But they aren't in the conversation by the couches like you are.
You looked at Redwood and Everest sitting on the couch so you and Dakota sat on the other couch across from them, “So where have you been this whole time?” Redwood starts, “Cannibal town, the leader in that town found me when I first woke up here and let me stay with her, she's nice” he looked at her a little skeptical as soon as she said cannibal town. A town full of cannibals. “Do you know how dangerous that is?” he asked, “Redwood, it's not that bad there, i went there and it is actually nicer than it seems, the lady Dakota is talking about is Rose, she's nice and offered me tea”
Despite your helpful defense for Dakota, Redwood still was still against it, “And did the tea have any cannibal blood in it?”, “You mean human meat?-” you corrected, which didn't help his already upset demeanor, “Just answer the question, Y/n” Everest looked at Redwood noting that he's getting aggressive again. “I don't think so- she gave me the recipe but i never looked over it to see what she actually put in it, but i doubt she actually put anything in there that's out of the ordinary for tea” you said, taking the paper of the recipe from your pocket and looking over it.
It looked like a normal recipe but one thing on the list confused you, “So is there anything- unusual on the list?” Everest asked, noticing your sudden confused expression after looking at the recipe list, “Sorta, the last ingredient is D.B. from Alastor?” you said, confused what D.B. stands for and why it's specifically from Alastor. Maybe i should ask him about it, i am kinda craving more of that tea.
“Y/n your drooling-” Dakota spoke, pulling you out of your thoughts, “Oh shit- sorry” you chuckled to yourself, wiping your mouth. Weird, I don't usually randomly do that, maybe it's the tea? “Alastor is that smiling guy right?” Redwood asked, you nodded, “I don't trust him, I just have a bad feeling about him. And Y/n, you should get feelings like me too, you opened your heart out to him day one” he said, basically scolding you for a mistake you made. Which you weren't thinking at the time since you were in emotions so you couldn't think straight.
But now you know that letting some random demon you barely met know a lot of information he could use against you any moment hit harder than driving into a brick wall. “I know, I know. I'll be more careful, but for now I'll just go find him to ask about the last tea ingredient” you sigh as you stand up, putting the paper back into your pocket, “I'll go with you” Redwood said sternly, standing up as well.
“No- uhm, Everest you can come with me, Dakota and Redwood can chat while we go” Everest looked at you and nodded as he got up, his brother sitting back down as he crossed his arms. “You're calmer than Red” you chuckled, “Hey i heard that!”, “I wasnt tryna keep it a secret man” you shrugged as you and Everest walked to search for Alastor.

Yooo story chapter out finally -- exciting after months of no motivation/ideas, even though it's like mid summer break-. . . .
Anyways! Some notes y'all must know is that the way Y/n looks is similar to an imp, just no tail or horns, just red skin. And yes, this detail is part of the story, you can continue to use whatever look you want to imagine but just keep in mind that the way hell-Y/n looks is not an accident for me being idealess for looks :)
Next, about our canine companions, for why they are in hell since they are originally animals is unknown in the story (for now).
Some personality info, Dakota is pretty neutral for anything, but yes is protective as the other two, she's more open minded
Redwood is more straightforward about a lot of things and isn't one to trust so easily, very protective and stern, compare him to tough guy personality, but obviously with a soft side he hates showing
Lastly Everest is just a softy guy, pretty much opposite of his brother and is more passive of "calmer" as Y/n said at the end of this chapter, he is protective too obviously because these three were like guard dogs/hunting dogs so it's just natural ig(?)
Last last note, this story is like my first/second slow burn I've ever made, because I wanted to see how it's like making it like this since usual there's smut by chapter 1 to 4 or whatever, and also I know Alastor is aroace, if I do make a smut chapter it can be skipped and there will be a warning at the beginning (don't hate me for being a sexual hoe)
Anyways! Now that that's cleared up (hopefully), I should be able to make the next chapter easier since I actually have base ideas for it instead of running off of sand grains 0-0
