You and Everest walked around the hall to look for Alastor, but you didn't know which room was his to be exact. This building is bigger than the amount of people who actually reside here. But soon enough you ran into Vaggie, “Hey Vaggie- do you know where Alastor is?” you asked her, she looked at you with a raised eyebrow when you said his name, “Alastor? Uh yeah I can show you where his room is” she said. A little skeptical.
Vaggie started walking to the elevator with you and Everest follow a step behind, “Why are you asking to see him if you don't mind me asking” she asked, pressing the top button, “Oh yeah, so uhm-”, “Rosie gave Y/n a tea recipe and one of the ingredients is from him” Everest explained short and simply. She gave you a look, silently asking if that's true or not, you just nodded to what he said, Vaggie muttered something before the elevator dinged.
The three of you all stepped out of the elevator as Vaggie continued walking the way to a door, “This is his door- or floor since no one wants to be on the same floor with him-” she said, cutting herself off before she started to ramble on anymore. You thanked her as she walked back to the elevator, “Y/n, do you think this guy is safe?” Everest asked, you thought for a moment about how to answer that.
On one hand, Alastor was there for you on day one when you needed someone, but on the other hand. It was day one when he was there. Someone, someone in hell, a demon. Someone who might not be trustworthy, and based on what the others are saying, he definitely isn't. “I don't know yet” you said before knocking on the door, Everest looked at you taking in your answer, sure its a reasonable answer for most people to not judge someone immediately, but to figure out if someone is trustworthy and not dangerous is something that needs a quick answer. Not I don't know yet.
The door opened to show the smiling deer, “Ah Y/n- and a mutt” he said, muttering the last part to himself, “Now what do I owe your visit?” Alastor asked, you took the tea recipe from your pocket and held it to him, “Rosie gave me a tea recipe she made, and uh- the last ingredient is D.B. from you?” He took the paper from your hand and looked at it. “Ah yes, demon blood, it's obvious that's what D.B. stands for” he said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Both you and Everest were shocked after hearing about the answer that left Alastor’s mouth. But for some reason it didn't shock you as much, it was tea from a cannibal, of course there would be blood from other demons as an ingredient. “Did you need me to get you some for the tea?” he asked. “Yes please” you said, the words leaving your lips before you could even think how to respond to his question.
Everest looked at you with a worried and confused look, Alastor just gave a signature smile as he walked past the two of you, closing the door behind him. “I will go get it then, i was already on my way to the tailor as i forgot to on my visit with Rosie!” he said as he walked to the elevator with you, and Everest behind you. As the three of you got into the elevator, you heard radio static coming from the deer demon. It wasn't loud but it was noticeable, “First floor?” Alastor asked, “Lobby- yes” you answered.
He pressed the button with his staff- for some reason- maybe he's a germaphobe? You thought curiously. “So were you a cannibal in your life?” Alastor asked, probably curious because of your immediate response previously to the tea, “No- i actually didn't think of eating others”, “Ah so it's just the demon blood” he hummed, you caught his gaze focused on Everest behind you, the static sound became a little more louder, just a little more noticeable. “Uhm- so what is with the whole demon blood thing? Isn't it like normal blood or-”
“Ah no no, demon blood is much more different, it's more addictive” he answered, cutting you off, “Wait what does that mean?”, “Demon blood is, hm how can i explain this more simply, to new or non cannibals gives a cannibal desire, craving more of the taste. To put it more simply, your cannibalistic needs and cravings will not end” he grinned, his face right in front of yours as if giving you this information was a threat. The minimum distance between you two did make you nervous, “Ahem- well thanks for the overly needed information, Alastor” Everest spoke finally.
Putting his hand on your shoulder and pulling you to him, away from the sinister demon, “But all we needed to ask was about the tea ingredient which you gave” you could hear the hint of uneasiness in his tone, the tension on the elevator was so thick you could possibly cut it and serve it. Then the elevator dinged, signaling its arrival to the lobby floor. “Well- let's get going now?” you said, “Ah yes, i'll be on my way then, i'll be back with your tea ingredient” Alastor smiled at you as he turned to a shadow and disappeared.
You looked up at Everest, he seemed to have calmed down- or snapped out of his previous state. He’s not usually like that, “What was that?” you asked him.
