(episode eleven ; scarecrow)
THE THREE WINCHESTERS LAY SPRAWLED ON THEIR BEDS, asleep in their motel room. They had just finished a tiring hunt at a creepy asylum, and they had completely collapsed as soon as they got in.
The phone rang on the bedside table in between the beds and Sam sleepily picked it up, his eyes still shut. Charlie and Dean lay on the other bed, which was a double. The girl lay flat on her back, her arm splayed across Dean's front half and her other arm hanging off the bed.
"Hello," Sam mumbled into the phone.
"Sam, is that you?" a very, very familair voice spoke through the phone.
Sam slowly sat upwards, fully awake now.
"Dad," he said. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine," John told his son.
"We've been looking for you everywhere. We didn't know where you were, if you were okay," Sam rapidly said into the phone.
"Sammy, I'm all right. What sbout you, Dean and Charlie?"
Dean started to stir awake, putting his hands behind his head, nearly wacking Charlie's face.
"Well, we're fine. Dad, where are you?" Sam asked. Dean frowned, sitting upwards.
"Sorry, kiddo, I can't tell you that."
"What?" Sam snapped, sounding quite high pitched. "Why not?"
"Is that Dad?" Dean asked.
"Look, I know this is hard for you to understand. You're just gonna have to trust me on this," John calmly said.
Sam paused in realisation. "You're after it, aren't you? The thing that killed Mom."
Due to the conversations, Charlie rolled onto her side, groaning as she began to slowly wake up.
"Who's calling at this time in the morning, jesus," she mumbled, shuffling downwards slightly to lean her head into Dean's side.
"Yeah, it's a demon, Sam," John said.
"A demon?" Sam looked to Dean. "You know for sure?"
"A demon? What's he saying?" Dean asked with a confused face.
"What's who saying?" Charlie grumbled into his side.
