Hana

Chapter 1 - The Hideout

It was a night like any other for Hana. She got home from her secret hide out. Her secret hide out was out in the woods. There was a tree that she really loved so, that's where she decided to put her treehouse or what she called it the secret hide out. She went there everyday, just by herself. She would usually go to school then after school she would go to the public library where she read books of fantasy. Then once she finished one book she would check out another and go to her secret hide out to read even more. She would arrive home every night around nine o'clock to ten o'clock . The library and her treehouse were the only places that she felt loved.

Her home life was well.... not the best. It was bad. She was abused. Not the abused were she would go to school with bruises all over her but the mentally abused. She always tried to find a way to get away from her family. That's why she reads all of the fantasy books. For Hana reading fantasy books was her favorite way to get away from all of her problems. However if she read anything from biographies to a world of creation it would make her forget, at the moment, all of her problems.

She walked into the house and said "Hey. I'm home." She said that every day when she walked in the door hoping that one day her parents would call out to her and say "Hello honey! How was your day at school?!" She thought that if her parents could just say that once to her, then she could just maybe give up the books. However, today there would not be any talking from her mother and father. Hana had one little sibling. A boy. He was always the center of attention while she got ignored and neglected. Sometimes she felt as though her parents and little brother would be better without her but, she couldn't leave without her parents saying what she always hoped they would when she walked inside that door.
