Chapter 5 - Hanging with Hana

I decided to trust Hana. I felt like she really needed a friend. I followed her to the library.

Then she said "If you feel unsafe I understand, just let me now if you feel unsafe. I felt that way once but after I got used to it and now its my safe haven."

I answered "Okay." She smiled and I followed her to the edge of the small town and we went into the woods.

She asked "Are you okay? You seem kind of quiet."

I said "Yeah I'm fine." Then a owl hooted and I jumped and let out a small screamed.

Hana said "It was just an owl. You don't have to come if you don't want to."

I said "No I'm fine. It just scared me a little."

Hana smiled and said "I'm glad I met you."

I smiled and said "I'm glad that I met you too."

We walked I little longer and then Hana stopped walking and said "We're here." I got really confused and I think that Hana noticed because she pointed up a tree. It was a huge tree.

I asked "How are we going to get up there though." She pulled a rope that I found out was a pulley. Then a huge contraption came down.

She opened the door and said "You first. Don't worry its completely safe." Then she smiled. I got on then she came in behind me and closed the door. She pulled us up.

I said "Wow where did you find a treehouse like this. Its amazing."

Hana said "Thanks. I built it though. I made it connect from tree to tree. I still need to finish it though. It is stable so, you don't have to worry."

I said with astonishment "What you built this!

She said "Yeah." Then she asked "Do you want to spend the night?"

I said "Let me call my mom and ask. I think she will be okay with it. But I would have to go to my house and get some of my stuff though."

Hana said "Well you don't have to. I have some extra stuff here. Its up to you though."

I said "Oh that will be fine. I think my mom will say yes." I called and asked "Hey, can I sleep over at a friends house.... okay ....okay....love you too.... bye." Then I hung up.

I turned around and looked at Hana and said "I can stay!"

I saw Hana smile for the first time and she looked so happy that she finally had a friend that he could talk to. I felt a heap of joy come to me when she smiled. I really did want to learn more about Hana.
