"You look stunning."

Red, silver, and black. I was covered in dazzling chains, a blinding silver crown sat upon my dark brown hair, ladened with red rubies and intricate designs from only the best welder. My outfit was black, white details added to show off my skinny frame, and a red cape was hanging delicately over my shoulders, flowing behind me and making a soft noise as I moved around. Some would say I looked like royalty, but I thought I looked stupid. Overdone.

"I feel hot." I tugged at my collar, feeling that it was way too warm. It was already the dead of summer, there was no need for me to be wearing things so thick.

The man behind me just gave me a smile, his hand planting gently on my shoulder, "You'll only have to wear it for a couple hours." He was trying to comfort me, but instead, dread filled me. These were going to be the longest hours of my life.

I rolled my eyes at him, "I think I'd rather become a common folk." I gave him a cheeky smile, watching as he scoffed in return, reaching forward and moving my bangs out of my face.

"But then you wouldn't look this handsome Woo." He always looked at me with admiring eyes, and each time he did, I felt something odd flutter inside of me. He wore lesser clothes, sometimes coming to serve me with garments covered in holes, I didn't know why he never asked my parents for better attire, but it wasn't up to me what he did. After all, I was just a prince. "Your hair is growing out, shall I cut it later?"

"I want it to grow out." I replied blankly. I knew that having short hair as a male showed wealth due to the money it took to cut it, but I preferred the overgrown look.

The man sighed, "But what will your wif-"

"Hongjoong. I don't have a wife yet."

I was going to put off marrying her for as long as I could. I hated defying my parents or my roles as a prince, but the thought of wearing a ball and chain with someone I didn't know felt wrong. Love was giving someone your heart and trusting them not to break it, but I didn't trust easy. On top of that, I didn't really know if I wanted to get married to anyone.

Hongjoong looked taken aback, his hand in my dark brown locks freezing in place, "But it's not like you can just not marry her."

I closed my eyes, letting my head fall, "Joong, I don't even know her name." I admitted. I had never cared to learn it.

"Then take time tomorrow to learn it." I felt a finger on my chin, pulling my head up, "You're a handsome boy Woo, if you don't like her, just keep your head low. All you have to do is make it through the vows, inseminate her, and do so until you birth a boy. Does that sound hard?"

I chuckled, my brows knitting together, "That sounds disgusting. We haven't even started the planning." I had places to be, and there were better things to be talking about now. The thought of sexual intercourse with a woman made my skin crawl, and not in a pleasing way. I knew I was destined to do it in the near future, but I was going to try my hardest to hold it off.

Hongjoong started walking to the door, a distant look forming on his face, "Well, that doesn't mean you won't have to do those things eventually." He said, opening the door to my room and gesturing me to walk into the hallway, "Sir, we should be making our way to the courtyard, there is no time to waste."

He always got like this, when doors were closed, he gave me warm expressions and friendly gestures, but once they opened, he was stone cold. He was my personal assistant, so it made perfect sense, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. I had no friends, only my parents who did nothing but scold me.

It felt overwhelming each time I had to sit in complete silence.

I started to follow him, not making a sound as he led me quickly through the great stone halls, carved with specific markings that matched our family's heirloom. Markings that I knew all too well.
