The Debate continued

Biden: I am utterly shocked by what Donald had just said to me. I know we are cruel to each other but he had crossed the line. I feel my blood boiling. I am a cautious man, but when the line is drawn the line is drawn. I decide to ignore his comment to send the message to him that it had no effect on me , even thought it did. The rest of the evening was faced entirely with harassment from the news reporters and an unusual tension from Donald and I. Of course there was tension, we are in the middle of a debate right now that will impact the presidency of our country. But this tension is foreign. It's a sense of danger yet safety. Exploratory yet reserved. While Donald answers pointless questions I notice the way his hips touch the podium and go back to his normal stance every couple of seconds. I'm not sure if he's doing it on purpose or if he's simply nervous. I begin noticing every bodily movement of this broad man in front of me. The way his muscles are visible through his suit when he adjusts his microphone. The way he pauses with his mouth open biting his lip as he listens to the reporters questions. I feel like I'm in a trance. What the hell is wrong with me?
Trump: what feels like forever, the last question goes to Biden. I can tell he's tired. He looks like he hasn't slept in days. How can his team allow him to work day and night for long hours and not ensure he gets enough sleep. I pause for a second. Why do I care? His failure only ensures my success. But I can't help but to care. I answer the question for Biden and in a way he looks grateful. The Debate is over all of the reporters have left but me and Biden are continuing writing up our notes from tonight. There's a long silence but it's peaceful and not awkward. We have known each other for so long and when we aren't arguing there's nothing really else to say. Do I make small talk? Maybe I should apologize for the "grave" comment I had made.
