Taylor's POV
Throughout my time on stage each night I've made sure to check the VIP tent for Charlie. She remained the same, putting on an act for the crowd and not daring to look at Travis. It's been like this for months. Tomorrow before we fly back to Long Island I've arranged plans for me, Charlie, and Travis in hopes they'll get along better. Travis was so nurturing and Charlie had expressed how he's a good person and kind but was closed off to him and wouldn't dare say that to his face. She just needed some convincing and I get it. After that confession a few days ago regarding Joe everything just made more sense. I was heartbroken and to add to it I even learned she's texted him again on Instagram after each city to update him and let him know she misses him. Although he hasn't unfollowed us, he doesn't even read them to her knowledge.

I run right to my Charlie after the show ends as she perks up in my arms. I could feel the tension washing off of her knowing she's with me. I know she's worried about Travis staying over tonight though, and the bonding attempts I have planned.

The car ride to the hotel was quiet. Me and Travis talked to fill the silence while Charlie observed the city with her AirPods in. She wasn't an introvert but I'm sure if you were to meet her in this state you'd mistake her as such. Travis helped me out of the car and offered his hand to Charlie who just looked at him coldly and got out herself, slamming the door and sending him a glare. I took her wrist and pulled her firmly near me. Although she was uncomfortable I was embarrassed with the disrespect she'd been showing Travis. At times I'd gotten angry with her but now it was hard to after knowing what she'd gone through. I let go of her wrist and pulled her near me by the shoulder in a side hug.

"Please just try Charlie." I whispered unlocking the hotel door as Travis followed further behind giving Charlie her space.

"I'm gonna shower and set up in here. Travis just put your things in my room for now and make yourself comfortable." I instructed kissing my daughter's blonde hair.

"Charlie why don't you go get into your pajamas and get ready for bed. It's late and I'm sure you'll be tired after the game?" I suggested. She nodded and walked off. I walked up to Travis.

"How was it?"

"Oh you were great. I mean you really know how to preform!" He replied with that smile that weakens my knees. I blushed.

"No I mean- thank you. But no. I meant with Charlie. Were you able to talk to her?"

"I tried in the beginning but she was pretty short and uninterested so I let her do her thing."

I groaned. "Teenagers are so difficult."

Travis cut in, "Well from hearing everything she told you it seems like your last relationship ended traumatically for the both of you. Like you said, we just have to help her heal." He took my hands into his.

"You're right. I'm just getting stressed and I'm concerned. It's been months and she's acting like you've just met. I wish she'd see what I see and how wonderful and supportive you are Travis. If I could just give her my eyes..."

"She already has your eyes Taylor. Even though you aren't related it's insane the resemblance you two have. I don't know how you came to take her in and when she's ready to tell me I'll be here but she has your eyes. She just needs a bit of help."

I kissed him. "You're right. I should probably take a shower now I probably reek of sweat." I say pulling a piece of confetti off my wet chest and flicking it at him.

"I'll treasure this always as a gift." He says in an 1800s imitating voice. I laugh.

"Please settle in! Let me know if you need anything."

"Sounds good Taylor. I love you."

"I love you too!" I called to him as I walked to my room. The best part after a 3 hour show is a cold shower.
