Chapter 2: The Shining Beacon

A view of several ships carrying students and docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one lands, a Blonde teen goes over to the nearest trash can, hunching over it as he loses his lunch.

Ruby, Yang, and Y/n alongside several other students, walk out of the ship and head down the paved to the front of the school.

Ruby, Yang & Y/n: (as they take in the entirety of Beacon Academy) Wow...

Yang: The view from Vale's got nothing on this!

Y/n: You can say that again.

Ruby: (getting so excited she becomes a 2-D, starry-eyed, floating chibi) Ohmygosh, guys! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword! (she tries getting closer, but Yang pulls her sister by the hood back into realistic proportions While Y/n was questioning how she turned 2-D) Ow! Oww!

Y/n(thoughts): Since when can Ruby do that?. You know what it's probably best that I don't think about it...

Yang: Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!

Ruby: Just weapons'? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!

Y/n: She's not completely wrong.

Yang: Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?

Ruby: (transforming her weapon into its scythe form) Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better...

Y/n: Ruby actually has a good point. You can learn a lot about a person's fighting style by seeing what weapon they use.

Yang: (playfully pushing her sister and brother's hood down over their faces) Ruby, Y/n come on, why don't you two go and try to make some friends of your own?

Ruby: (taking off her hood as well as Y/n) But... Why would we need friends if we have you?

Y/n: Yeah?

Yang: Well... (In a flash, a group of other students surrounds Yang, and they all dash down the road) Actually, my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. Kay, see ya, bye!

Ruby: (spinning and dizzy-eyed from Yang's sudden leaving) Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? (stopping for a moment, still reeling) I don't know what I'm doing...

Y/n: Uhh... Ruby you're about to...

Ruby falls backward into a luggage cart, sending cases flying. A girl with white hair is standing over her.

Y/n: Crash....

White haired girl(annoyed): What are you doing?!

Ruby: (getting up on her hands) Uh, sorry!

White haired girl: Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused!?

Y/n(thoughts): Oh hey I remember her from that giant Knight we fought and her concert. What was her name again?

Ruby: (holding a case) Uhhh...

White haired girl: Give me that! (she snatches the luggage from Ruby and opens it to reveal its twinkling-sounding contents) This is Dust-mined and purified from the Schnee quarry!

Y/n(thoughts): Right her name was Weiss... I think?

Ruby: Uuuhhhh...

Weiss: What are you, brain-dead?" (holding out a vial of red Dust and shutting the case while shaking it in Ruby's face) "Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!"
