‘lolo?’ takang tanong ni Cielo sa kaniyang sarili.
“Hello po, 'lo?” bati ng dalaga nang sinagot niya ang tawag.
“Cielo Madrigal.” mariin na saad ng matanda sa kabilang linya ng tawag.
“What did I do, 'lo?” Cielo immediately knew that she did something that goes against her grandfather's liking the moment he had said the latter's full name.
“Silvestre Nuevez.” kahit hindi na ipaliwanag ng kaniyang lolo ay alam na ni Cielo ang nais iparating nito.
‘You're playing dirty, Mr. Silvestre’ Cielo thought and fully unaware of her knuckles turning white because of how hard she's clenching her hand.
“He send you a dinner meeting invitation to discuss about work-related matters, and he told me that you declined him.” saad ng Lolo ni Cielo na may diin sa bawat salita nito.
“He's an important asset to our company, Cielo. Now, accept that dinner meeting invitation.” the old man added, with finality on his tone.
Cielo knew better than to retort to her grandfather's decision, lalo na kung ano ang sinabi nito ay siya talagang masusunod o mangyayari. Going against him would be like setting herself on fire, heck she's even more scared about what her grandfather can do than Silvestre Nuevez, himself.
She's a Madrigal, a known and respected name in the industry of businesses, pero she knows how her Lolo get things done to his accord.
Henceforth, she succumb and accepted the invitation despite her unwillingness.
