Y/n POV:
My parents and I left early in the morning to go to Chicago for Thanksgiving. It had officially been a month since Dylan and I started dating.
His team had won state and finished the season with another win in the books. We had been on a lot of amazing dates and he had treated me like an absolute queen.
Life had been great but the reality of being in the same city as Luke didn't hit till we landed and hit the ground in Chicago.
When we walked out of the airport I felt the humid Chicago air hit my face. I was reminded of all the good and bad memories this city held.
"Y/n I missed you" I switched back to reality to see Walker standing in front of me.
I ran up to Walker and gave him a big hug.
Me and Walker went to school together up until he moved to a different part of Chicago before high school. Me and Walker had been best friends since birth. We did everything together.
"I'm so happy to see you," I said with a large smile on my face. This was going to be a great trip "How have you been"?
"I've been great it has been ages. I missed you" Walker said. He grabbed my bag and put it in the car. He opened the door for me. I went in first then he followed.
The car ride to the house was full of laughs and conversations. Walker felt like home. He held so many good memories. The fun times in Chicago are the parts I like to remember.
After saying hello to all my family and friends and catching up me and walker went outside to the backyard to talk.
I took my shoes off and sat next to Walker putting my feet into the large pool in front of us. "So how's Cali?" He asked turning to look at me.
"Cali it's great. I have a boyfriend and a great group of friends. I love it over there. But I truly miss Chicago. I wish things here ended differently"I turned to look at him.
"Woah a boyfriend. My y/n is all maned up" he gently pushed his shoulder into mine. He went quiet for a bit "I'm glad life is better for you in Cali. But don't forget you always have a place in Chicago here my house this town" He hugged me.
After dinner, me and walker biked to a nearby park. "So what's Chicago been like" I asked Walker walking over to the swings
"Well, nothing much. I've been talking to this really sweet girl Leah she's in my English and math class. But I'm waiting for track season to start" Walker smiled looking to the sky.
"Who's this Leah girl? You've never told me about her" I said teasing. Growing up me and walker never had one of those elementary middle school relationships. So when Luke first apported me I ignored everyone around me telling me that he was not a great guy once you got to know him.
"She's nice. We eat lunch together. We just click. She's funny sweet nice all the things you know. I feel a spark with her. I'm hoping we can go far. I even took her to homecoming" He said pulling out his phone and showing me photos.
We talked for a little more then headed back to the house.
Dylan POV:
On Thanksgiving day Y/n left for Chicago early in the morning. I knew she would be busy with her friends and family over there but I still wanted to call her so bad.
My brother and his girlfriend came over along with a lot of family. It was a full house. It was nice to be around everyone. So many cousins I hadn't seen in forever.
"So where's your girl" My brother asked.
I turned to look at him. We were the only ones in the living room. This whole night I barely got to talk to him "She went back home to Chicago to visit family and friends."
"Who knew little bro would ever move on from Ari," My brother said softly pushing my shoulder. When me and Ari started dating we did everything together. We had been friends for so long that I wasn't learning anything new about her. I was just spending time with my favorite person in the world.
My parents and everyone around us thought that we were going to get married. So, it was quite a shocker when we decided to break up. I never knew what it was. I was sure we were endgame.
I still remember that night. She called me and said she wanted to talk. We met at the beach and that's where it all ended. I was hurt and confused. Every time we had a problem we talked it out. Just earlier that day she said she loved me. At that moment I was feeling all types of ways but I felt this wasn't the end so I tried to end it as best as possible. We stayed friends and she never showed me that type of affection again. For her, we were just friends but to me, I had lost my soulmate.
When Y/N moved here. I felt my feelings for Ari just drying up. I no longer was crazy about her. Y/n made me feel whole again.
''Yeah. I wish she was here for you to meet her"
"I'll be back in like 2 and a half weeks" He smiled at me "Look Dylan I'm really happy you found yourself again and someone. I hope you treat her right. And I hope she takes good care of you" He patted my back and then made his way back to the other living room where everyone was.
Y/N POV:
As a family, we decided to extend our stay in Chicago so the following week I missed Monday and Tuesday at school.
"Well, I'm glad you decided to come back to Cali. We thought you were gone for good" Ari said hugging me.
" Hey y'all I'm back. I didn't think I was going to have so much fun that I missed school" I said placing my bag on the lunch table and sitting down. " By the way where is Dylan I haven't seen him all day. Would it kill him to at least be here at lunch to see his girlfriend who's been away" I said rolling my eyes.
"Uhhm I think he's eating lunch with his football team or something, " Jacob said.
I hated how he weirdly got distant. "Oh okay," I said trying to ignore the feeling.
For the rest of lunch, we caught up and ate.
When I got to the yearbook Dylan was already there. And a girl was sitting in my seat talking to him. I walked a little slower into the classroom hoping she would get up. The bell rang and she was still in my seat.
Instead of saying anything I took an open seat in the back. Dylan looked around the classroom for me a few times then gave up when he didn't see me.
Today was just a work day so I opened my computer to see where me and Dylan were in terms of our work. Since I had nothing better to do I put in my airpods, put my head down, and fell asleep.
"Good morning sleepy head" I heard Dylan's voice say "Class is almost over" I lifted my head to see Dyaln and Bella standing over me.
I jumped a little. Why did she look so different? I looked at the clock there were only 2 minutes till school was over. I quickly grabbed my thing put it in my bag and right as I left the classroom the bell rang.
Dylan tried to catch up with me and Bella followed closely behind but I kept speeding up. To the point, I was running. What was he doing with her?
