Cancer's eyes widened as she spun around to look at the owner of the voice. Ardere Aragon.
"Oh-uh," Cancer fakes a smile, "The phone was unattended, I was just going to return it-"
Ardere suddenly slumped on the stool beside Cancer. She was clearly drunk, and her eyes fluttered as they landed on Cancer, "Whatever." She slurred.
Cancer tilted her head before looking at Leo with a shrug, "Let's get out of here, she can take care of herself."
Leo nods, and the two thieves walk away, trying to find others in their group. Cancer's eyes flickered to Aquarius when she heard a light chuckle from her earpiece.
Aquarius smiled as Kiernan chuckled, drinks in both hands as they sat at the bar counter.
Aquarius watched as Kiernan's long fingers wandered the wine glass.
How do I get his fingerprint?
"Mother, on the other hand," Kiernan says, "Doesn't even try to understand."
Aquarius smiles sympathetically. Kiernan wasn't like his parents, there was something humane about him. Something less intimidating.
"Oh, yeah?" Aquarius's eyes hold onto his as her hands slip into his purse, not attracting any attention. Her hands wander around the purse until they land on a little box, she opens it and gets a slip of adhesive tape, she closes the box, and slips her hand right out of the bag.
"Yeah," Kiernan says, placing his glass of wine on the counter, "Anyways, tell me about you." He places his hands together, looking at her intently.
"Well, if we're still talking about incompetent parenting," Aquarius says, eyes flickering over to his glass for the briefest second, before meeting back with Kiernan's, "My dad wasn't so good at the sport."
Kiernan smiles, understanding, "Tell me about it."
Aquarius looks down, chuckling softly, she looks up watching him signal the bartender.
The bartender rushes to Kiernan, "Yes, sir?"
"A refill, please?"
The bartender nods before rushing back spontaneously and gets back with a bottle of red wine in his hand. He starts filling Kiernan's glass, and Aquarius watches, the bartender looked scared, as if he knew he was going to mess up somehow. And he wasn't wrong.
After filling about a third of Kiernan's glass, the bartender seemingly lost his grip and swung the bottle a little to the right, hitting Kiernan's glass. The wine glass hit the ground and shattered into multiple huge pieces of glass.
"Oh, my God." The bartender's eyes widened, "I'm so sorry, sir."
Kiernan didn't seem so bothered, and besides, nothing of the drink had gotten onto him, it was all just splattered on the floor, "It's okay, mate, don't worry."
"I'll get that cleaned right away."
Aquarius looked at the chunks of glass, scanning for fingerprints, and she leaned forward a bit further, hoping to get a better glance.
Kiernan watched as Aquarius stared at the ground, her posture leaning forward, "They'll clean it up, I'm sorry about that."
Aquarius spots a piece of glass right next to her left foot, about the size of two pennies placed side-by-side against each other. It surprised her, that piece of glass, unshattered, and the drink was on the other side of it, perfectly maintaining the fingerprint, "Oh, you don't have to apologize." She looks back at him, stealthily stretching her leg a little further and strategically dragging the piece of glass closer to herself with the heel of her black heels, eyes subtly shifting to it, careful not to ruin the pattern of Kiernan's index finger on it.
