I knew my sister was lying. I could see it in her eyes. She didn deserve the pain she was forced to live with, but I didn t know how to protect her, because it wasn t one person. The whole world was against mynsister and I Don t understand why. Our entire lives, I had it good, while she was smiling through hell every day without complaining. She has never been okay, but the grief she has been in was too much for anyone to carry.

I remember how she used to be with her daughter. Our son of a bich of a father got her fucking pregnant and She didn t Tell anyone. She took care of her baby boy for a year, before someone killed him. That s when She truly lost it again. She loved him in a way I didn t see our mother love me, it was eternal. Elias meant more too her then anything would ever again and when he died She died too. I saw it. Her body is still here, but my sister is long gone so far away that nothing can reach her. She knew it too. She lost hope, but I didn t. I m still trying to bring her back to me, because I should ve done Something. I should ve protected my little sister, but I didn t because I m weak. I can t fight and even If I could i still wouldn t stand a chance before our enemies. My sisters enemies are my enemies.

We came back around five pm. Mum was already at home.

,, Hey, Carlos, I finished work early today. I was wondering if You wanted to spend some tine together." She told me, compleatly ignoring Eden, who already left the room.

" No, I really don t." Her face fell, tuning into a deep shade of red.

"I am your mother."

" You re her mother too, but you seem to forget that a lot."

,, Carlos, baby, You know things are compliacated between me and your sister, but that doesn t have to ruin our relateonship."

,, What the hell has she done to you, people, that you resent her so damn much?" She stared at me, searching for a reason in her mind, but when she didn t respond I scoffed.

,, You don t even know why you hate her?"

,, I don t hate her. We just aren t close. "

,, Then your notbfucking close to me either."

After that she looked at me as if she was about to cry, but it didn t faze me.That used to work years ago, when she was guilt trapping me into hanging out with her, but I m not nine years old anymore and she needs to get that in her head.

I wasn t allowed downstaires, into Eden s room. Mine and my parents room were upstaires and for some reason her room was the basment. Sure, it was big, but I couldn t understand why she was treated so much diferently.

I decided to study for a while. It may be wierd, but it calm me down. My sister had ver ways and i had mine. I don t know whag She did, but when she was really angry, si much that it was actually visible since she s always do closed of, she went out or stayed in her room for a while and whatever she did made her look like a new person. Sometimes she was our for a bit too long, but I got used to it. When she came back she always looked more collected. Maybe she just needed a brake from this place.

After two hours, I got ready to go out with my friends. Those are the guys I know I can trust with anything. I never told them what was happaning in this house to respect my sister s privacy, but I know that If I had they would ce kept they re mouths shut for sure. I met Pierce when I was six, bacuse we went to the same primary school. We grew up togeghter, saw eachother in every faze of our lifes, even my Harry Potter one and his Taylor Swift when he was nine. His sister, Val, was obsessed with her for years, until she discovered Chase Atlantic. She s always been apart of our friend group and even tho her brother didn t like it in the beggining we didn t care. I was as close to his sister, maybe even more then I was to him.

Patrick was here from the begging as well, along with Casey. They later in got together and have been going strong for over a year now. Honestly, their relateonship was goals. I m not in a hurry.
Lia and Milo moved here two years ago, și I don t know them as well, but they re both fun to be arond, esecially when they fight.
I put on some Nike joggers and a grey hoodie. We got to this pud of ours often. I asked Eden i f she wants to tag along multiple times, but her answer never changed.
I was on my way, when my phone pinged.

VAL: That dickhead diched me.
Pick me up?

ME: On my way.

Her house wasn t far from mine, a fifteen minute walk. I spoted her sitting on her front porch. She was wearing black top and dark red lether skirt.

" What are you wearing?"

" What does it look like?" She said getting up and placing her hands on her hips.

"Like you re about to flash me your arse" I chuckled when she walkes twords me and slapped my chest.

" Asshole! You re not complaining are you?"

I shook my head " Can t Say no to such a view, can I?"

" Carlos! Let s go, You goofball"

I quicly chatced up with her. She was tall, 5" 7, but I was still towering ovef her at my 6"1

"How have you been?" She asked, pulling her attention away from her home and to me.

" Since yeasterday? I have been fine.You?"

"I have been horriable! My coach is a dick. He made us run fucking five more miles then usual, because apperently we have an attitude I mean I do, but It s none of his goddamn buisness. I ce seen how he looks at the secretary, but you don t see me calling his wife!" She let out an exaspereted sight and I laughted at her dramatic answer.

" You know, when people just expect fine or not fine."

" Well, I m uniqe" She smiled prodly.

" You sure are."
