Amir sighed pulling into the condo him and Zion bought around the end of last year. This year was going to be Amir's 2nd year attending University of Florida. He was excited to say the least ready to see how this year would go for him.
Last year Amir was considered one of the best swimmers in the UF's team. He consistently finished in top 5 of all the races he was in. Beat 3 school records and was invited to swim for the USA team during the Olympic trials. He also got a few endorsements with brands such as Speedo, Under Armor, and Dicks.
This year though he was striving to get more brands to send him endorsement contracts.
Away from swimming Amir was studying sports medicine. He was very passionate with the study of physical fitness aka kinesiology. He loved that he was learning different ways he could help other athletes treat and/or prevent injuries. He was a great student and made sure to be on top of himself so he could maintain his 4.0 gpa.
Amir grabbed the bag of food he got from chipotle attempting to get out of his car but halted his movements when a FaceTime call with 'favorite mother 🫶🏼' went across his screen. Amir's face went up into a smile as he immediately pressed the accept button. "Hey ma, what you doing?" Amir asked watching as his mom start to smile when she saw his face.
"Hey Mir, I'm currently waiting for your father's slow ass to get downstairs so we can head on out on our date." she said looking back to make sure his dad didn't catch her talking smack. Amir laughed loudly. "Alright now ma, don't make me text dad now about you talking shit out here" he smirked seeing his mother's smile disappear and turn into frown. "Snitch" she whispered waving him off. "But anyways enough about him, tell me why I needed to look at your location to see that you made it back in Gainesville, Nix?" Amir gasped realizing that that texting her upon his arrival completely slipped his mind.
"My bad, you know I have short term memory loss. It's not my fault ma blame dad" he said playfully glancing at his phone to see if his mom was buying it.
She rolled her eyes jokingly "Mhm sureee. I was struggling for 20 minutes trying to pull the damn location app. You know I can't work this phone well." Amir chuckled hearing his mom complain "Dad and I offered countless times to help you use that phone and you know that ma." he said looking at her knowingly.
"Yeah, that's because I don't need y'alls help" she said stubbornly her southern accent slipping a little. Amir saw his dad head pop up behind his mother and figured he heard himself being mentioned in their conversation.
"You guys down here talking shit about me?" he said raising a brow. Amir smirked taking the opportunity to snitch on his mom. "Nah but m-"
"Bye Mir" his mother said quickly disconnecting the call making Amir bust out laughing. Not her being scary he thought to himself as he made his way inside the house.
