11 - Honesty

Skylar's POV
I got fired so why should i hide it anymore? I'm not scared of him. If he wants, he can shoot me for all i care.

So I will admit everything right now.

"I lie about every single thing. Do you honestly would like such a person like me?" I ask him.

"As long as you tell me the truth, i won't be mad. But everyone lies, i do too." He tells me with a serious face.

"Would you hate me because of it?"

"No, i wouldn't. I'm sure you had your reasons of why you lied about some things."

"Yes but this is why we can't be together. I lied about so many things."

"Look, you can tell me the truth, it's obviously eating you alive, you want to be with me but you needed to lie about something to protect yourself, am i right?" He asks.

"Yes. I can't keep lying like this. I hate lying."

"How about we go back home and we can be more private about all of this?" He asks, since we are still at the caffee.

"That would be better."

"Great, your place or mine?" He asks.
"Mine is closer." I said to him, and we went back to my apartment.

As we head inside, this apartment felt more like home than the house i was staying at.

"Listen i really didn't want everything to turned out like this." I started the conversation as we sat down.

"I understand. You have your reasons. I hate lying but if you tell me the truth and the reason behind it, I'm not gonna be mad."

"If you says so. But we don't have to be together even after i tell you." I said.

"Just tell me already, it can't be that bad."

I took a deep breath.

"For starters, I'm actually 25." He suddenly laughs at me.

"That actually makes so much sense now. You don't even look like you're 18. Thankfully it turned out I'm not crazy to like someone so much younger than me. But why lie about your age and going to school?" He then asks.

"Right. I needed a cover up story, so i can discover some bad people. Since I'm an officer." I say at the end.
I didn't practically tell him much but i told him the most important one, that I'm a fucking cop.

"You're a what?" He asks shocked, it was almost unbelievable to him.

"A cop." I repeated, more scared of his reaction now. What was i thinking? Telling him the truth, well not the full truth where I'm investing him.

"You're mad? Aren't you? I knew it. Who wouldn't be mad, i mean i lied about something like that and-" i started panicking but he pulled me closer into a kiss to shut me up.

We quickly seperated.

"I'm not mad. Sorry, i was just suprised." He says with a gentle smile.

"Okay then."

"Which bad guys are you looking into if i may know?" He suddenly asks.

"Um some random mafia group. We got info that they are from high school, acting like some organisation." I blurted out. If he finds out i was looking into him. I'm dead.
How would i ever tell him that?

"Right. Did you find anything?"

"Uh no. And i was taken off the case. So I'm done with them."
He nods.

"Alright. Well anything else you would like to tell me?" He suggest.

"No, that's it." I say. I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

"So you're 25?" He asks with a smirk.

"Yeah."

"That's good."

We stayed in a silence for a moment.

"I still like you." He suddenly says.

"What?"

"No matter if you're a cop or anything else. I would still like you." He says as he gives me a warm smile.

"So what now?" I ask him shyly.

"And now, you're my boyfriend. That's where we will start for starters." He says to me as he comes closer to steal a kiss.
I pulled him closer to me if that was possible, gripping his hair, wanting more.

"It's a nice start." I say happily, just like that, all my worries have gone away.

"Boyfriends huh?" I ask with a smirk.

"I like the sound of that. It's honestly suprising for me, I've usually been with girls and last my wife, who I've had a child with, wait does that bother you that i have a child?" He started rambling. I never seen this side of him, it's honestly cute.

"No, it's fine. I like kids besides i like Mateo, he's a good kid. I'm happy that we are even friends."

"Oh okay good then." He sighed in relief.

"Say how about a nice dinner and we can watch a movie?" He asks suddenly.

"I would love that. Will you cook? Your cooking is amazing, i absolutely loved the last time i ate at your place." I finally admited to him.

"For you anything. Have any wishes?"

"Suprise me." I cheekily smiled.

"Sure thing, go take a seat at living room and find us a good movie." He suggested as he gave me a sweet kiss on the cheek.

"Okay." I responded and went to living room.

It would be best to fully quit my job so i would never have to tell him i was looking into him actually.
Can't i have a moment where i don't have to worry about everything.

As i thought that to myself, someone called me. I looked at the ID, it was the boss.

"Shit." I muttered to myself.

"Hello sir." I greeted him.

"Hello Skylar, can you come to the base right now? We need to sort things out." He says.

"Now?" I repeated as i looked towards the kitchen. Giovanni just came to living room, probably calling me to go eat.

"Yes now! We need to know what to do next since you're currently away from the mafia guy."

"Right. Can you give me 10 minutes, I'll be there."

"Fine. Bye."

"Goodbye sir." I said sadly as i hang up.
I looked at Giovanni again.

"What is it?" He asks me.

"I have to go sort some things but I'll be back quickly." I said but it was visible how guilty i felt for leaving him after he made dinner for me.

"At least eat first."

"I don't have time. I have to go now unfortunately, I'm sorry for this weird date. I promise to give you a real date next time." I smiled softly.

"Come back after you're done and we can organise the next date together if you wanna." He says with a smirk as he comes closer to me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"You have a deal." I smirked back.

"Now get your cute ass out of here before i hold you back." He laughs, but before i left he gave me a small kiss.
Sweet and gentle.

I couldn't help but feel all happy and giddy inside.

"See you soon." I said my goodbye and left.
Thank you boss for ruining my date with the most handsome man i have met.
