LUCIEN'S P.O.V

Tamlin told me everything yesterday night. How he could smell the sorrow and sadness off of Vi. The girl with pitch black hair and amethyst eyes. I despised those humans. They killed Andres. Although that night when Vi walked back to her room and met my eyes. It was like the world around me disappeared. Like gravity wasn't hold me down anymore she was. How I hated seeing the blood trickling down her face and how her face held no smile. That is when I knew that she was my true mate. How I would willingly do anything for her. How I could hear her yelling at Feyre that night. How I hated hearing Feyre yell back at her and how her sobs shattered my heart. Never in a million decades would I have thought I'd mate to a human girl. That night I couldn't sleep at all because I could hear her destroying her room. Her sobs of sorrow. I wanted to rip feyre's head off this morning when I saw her. Obviously Tamlin could sense my mate's bond. I had knocked on VI's room door this morning. Alis telling me I should leave her be. So when I saw her at dinner a few moments ago I was surprised and I hated how she had bags under her eyes and a shadow cast down on her. I was even more surprised when she sat across from me.

We ate in silence until she broke it, "What!?" She said, head snapping towards Feyre.

Tamlin and I stood there confused as she said," I heard you call me an ungrateful bastard Feyre."

Tamlin and I share a look of confusion as Feyre denied the accusations. But we could tell she lied. We could smell it off her and hear her heart flutter quickly. I was confused. It was as quiet as a library so how could she here Feyre say that. Even with our keen ears we couldn't here Feyre say that. It left me baffled but I quickly hid it as I watched my mate gobble down her food. Her satisfied hum of enjoyment and the way her eyes sparkles and her depression suddenly lifted off her like a cloud clearing a mountain after a storm. The sight made me feel heat rise in my cheeks and my ears. I felt Tamlin nudge my foot with his earning my attention, I looked to him. A smirk on his face.

"What is this?" I heard my mate ask.

I chuckle at her stupid question, " Wine darling," I said, quickly I feel the blood rush  to my face.

Tamlin throwing me a look saying not to rush it.

"Wine?" She repeated and took a sip.

Her face went red as she turned her head and spit the wine all over Tamlin. I couldn't hold my laugh in at Tamlins face. My mate has the audacity to spit on Tamlin.

That brings me here, walking her to her quarters.
