Kayden watches the scene unfold and it brings a frown to his innocent face. His eyebrows furrowed as he watched five players from Durmstrang approach (Y/N).

He sees Jennie back away, wearing an equally confused look as the group conversed with (Y/N). His sister snickers, and suddenly she throws a punch straight at Krum's nose. Blood spurts out and he brings a hand to it, and lowers it to find his fingers stained with his own blood.

"What the fuck?"

And suddenly, excited chatters die away and the school's band pauses as the group of five guys ganged up on (Y/N).

(Y/N)'s whole team come rushing to her, all except for Ron. But Hermione fills his spot, she's already on the ground right beside (Y/N).

"Get off her!"

Hermione yells at God knows who. Cedric is pushing one of them away, Harry's already beaten one of them on the face ( Ginny has to rush over to get him to stop ), Draco's holding one of them by the shirt and spitting insults and threats, something along the lines of "My father will—"

(Y/N) doesn't remember things going black, but the last thing she sees is Hermione panicking and shouting behind her, requesting for help.

...

"Dear, she won't wake up anytime soon so—"

"I will frame you and get you fired by noon if you don't leave us alone."

Hermione threatens the nurse. Which is so unlike her, but she can't help it. (Y/N)'s just laying there helplessly on the hospital bed, and Hermione can't do much but hold her hand on her lap, brushing a thumb over her smooth skin.

The brunettes eyes are bloodshot and rather puffy. Her lips are down and her breathing is erratic from all the crying. (Y/N) was sleeping peacefully and she seemed alright, but Hermione can't feel at ease.

Hermione feels like a crybaby, and she swears that she tries not to. But everytime she looked at (Y/N)'s scars and fresh bruises, she can't help but let a few tears fall.

All Hermione wants to do is get on the bed and lay her head on the jock's chest. All she feels like doing is coddling (Y/N) and staying with her till all the pain went away.

Her phone rings for the umpteenth time. She picks it up with her free hand and answers. "What, Ronald? I told you already, I'm not leaving this seat until (Y/N)—"

"Her brother is with me and Harry. He's crying and—"

"I'm on my way."

Hermione hangs up and sighs. Of course, the only thing that would get her out of her seat is Kayden.

She looks at the jock. The corner of her lip is slightly bruised and she wants to kiss the pain away.

Hermione gets up, she's still in her cheerleading uniform, her hand smoothes over her tiny skirt. She walks to the door but turns around just to make sure that the jock was still sleeping peacefully.

She really doesn't want to leave, but a vivid image of Kayden crying flashes through her mind. She pulls the door open and comes face to face with none other than Jennie Kim.

The two merely glare at eachother and purposely bump their shoulders harshly against each other.

...

When (Y/N) wakes up, she finds the black-haired girl sitting on the chair beside her. She's rather confused. She wasn't expecting Jennie to be honest.

"About time, I've been here for ages—"

"Where's Hermione?"

(Y/N) interrupts her with a frown. Everything aches and everything amplifies without the brunette's presence. Jennie parts her lips to answer but they close for a moment.

Suddenly, she smiles. "She left with the ginger on your team, remember?"

(Y/N) tries to work the gears in her head. She doesn't remember anything besides blacking out. "Right." she said, not quite sure.

"It's okay though, I'm here, baby. I'm not going anywhere." Jennie leans down to press a soft kiss on the jock's head.

(Y/N) knows that if it was Hermione in her place, she'd probably consider herself healed by now.

But she's not. And somehow, the ache affects her heart too.
