I was walking along the trail when I heard a growl behind me. I turned around and nothing was there. My heart began beating quickly. It was dark, yet I could see, so I had an advantage. I unsheathed my claws, backing away slowly. I heard another growl, it didn't sound like a mountain lion, more like a werewolf. Instantly, I scaled a tree, jumping through the tops of them. I heard running bellow me and took a pencil out of my pocket, throwing it as far as I could to throw it off course. I climbed down the tree, making no noise. I placed my steps so lightly that not even the leaves crunched under my feet. I hid by a bush, awaiting any sign of movement. Wind blew a scent into my face and it was Derek's. I groaned, getting out from under the bush. I followed his scent, leading me to a transformed wolf, looking for me.

"Heya, Derek." I grumbled. "I hate you, you know."

"How'd you know it was me?" He questioned, shifting back, his fangs slowly disappearing.

"A keen sense of smell." I pointed to my nose. "Wanna tell me why you were chasing me?"

"Seeing if you'd be smart enough to outrun the alpha. Just because you don't want to be a part of the supernatural, doesn't mean you're not a target."

"And? How'd I do?"

"Amazing to be honest. The pencil was smart." He held out the object I had thrown and I grinned, taking it. "And, you moved without a sound, making it nearly impossible to tell where you were. Never seen a werewolf do that." He mumbled. "It was like you weighed a feather."

~~~
I listened as Scott stormed into his room, locking his window and his heart pounded. Derek had told me how he had done the same thing to Scott in a parking lot, except his phone rang, giving him away. Scott gasped as a light turned on.
"You seriously need to stop doing that!" I knew he was talking to Derek, his smell gave him away.
"So what happened, he talk to you?" Who?
"Yeah. We had a nice conversation about the weather. No he didn't talk!"
"Well, did you get anything off of him? An impression?" I opened Scott's door.
"I wanna hear." I sat down on his bed.
"What do you mean?" Scott asked Derek.
"Remember, your other senses are heightened. Communication doesn't have to be spoken. What kind of feeling did you get from him?"
"The alpha?" I asked and Derek nodded.
"Anger." Scott spoke.
"Focused on you?"
"No, not.. not me. But it was definitely anger, I could feel it. Especially when he drew the spiral."
"Wait, the what? What'd you just say?"
"He drew this spiral on the window of my car, in the condensation, you know?" Derek looked down.
"What? What does that mean?" I asked him.
"No, it's, it's nothing." He walked towards the door but Scott stopped him.
"Wait a second, you can't do that! You can't ask me to trust you and then just keep things to yourself."
"Doesn't mean anything." Derek opened the door.
"You buried your sister under a spiral. What does it mean?"
"You don't wanna know." Derek mumbled, walking out.
"Bitch." I called after him, walking into my room.
~~~

I woke up a few hours later, knocking on Scott's door.

"Wake up." I grumbled before going back into my room to get changed.
