Sonic was running through the forest just to freshen himself up and that's when he noticed a black figure with red stripes on his head. It was his rival, Shadow the Hedgehog. After fighting with Eggman a few days ago no one saw Shadow around. Even Rouge couldn't find him, and when she did he immediately Chaos Controlled somewhere. No one knew what was going on but since the blue hedgehog already saw him he decided to check on him if he's alright.
"Hey Shads! Whatcha doin' here?" The ebony hedgehog turned around just to be met with blue version of himself. His face wasn't really a kind expression. The dark hedgehog stayed quiet for a while, he sighed and spoke. "What do you want now." "Well, I just wanted to ask you how you're doing, no one really saw you lately after defeating Eggheads butt. What's gotten in you?" The ebony hedgehog didn't answer. Sonic after a bit added. "Also, you're ignoring Rouge and everyone else. Rouge told me that when she tried talking to you you Chaos Controlled away an--" "Could you not bring this whole situation up?!" Shadow interrupted him. It looked like it was quite pissing him off to talk about this. But why? Was he hiding something? Or just wanted to be alone?
The blue hedgehog thought for a while. "I know! How about a race?" He suggested. "Hmph, no. I don't think I want to race right now." It was quite wierd for Shadow to deny racing. Something was clearly off... "Come on~ I know you want to!~ or you're just a coward, you think that you'll lose that's why you don't wanna race huh?" Blue hedgehog said with a mocking tone. He wanted Shadow to agree by him telling him that he's just afraid of losing. "Oh really? You think you can beat me?" Shadow answered. "Of course I can! I'm the fastest hedgehog alive! No one is going to beat me!" Sonic was pretty confident as always. Sure, he's the fastest hedgehog but Shadow definitely wouldn't let that slide. "Hmph. We'll see about that Faker...bring it on!"
Sonic was glad to hear that. Everything was going just as he planned. They both got ready to race and then Sonic started counting down. After 'Go' they both ran at high speed. It was a bit hard to navigate around forest because of how many trees there were. It wasn't also easy to hit the high speed for any of them.
Sonic was running, so did Shadow but the blue hedgehog started to think about something. He wasn't even sure if he was thinking about anything. He zoned out. Shadow looked at his rival and saw that something was wrong but didn't really care since they're rivals, until Sonic was about to hit a tree. "Sonic!" Shadow shouted to wake up the other hedgehog. At the last moment he gained consciousness and saw he was near to hitting a tree, he quickly turned right where Shadow was and he bumped into him. When Sonic ran into Shadow they both fell on the ground. "What are you doing idiot?! Watch where you're going!" Shadow was really pissed. He really didn't understand what was he thinking about so much that he forgot that he's running. "Uhh...sorry okay? I was just thinking about something and I zoned out I guess." Sonic explained that he wasn't really controling where he was going. Seriously, what was he thinking about??? "Well you better not do that while running in the woods. You could have gotten yourself killed!" The dark hedgehog still was annoyed by that whole situation.
"Look Shads, sometimes when I think too- wait...did I heard you correctly?" Sonic couldn't really believe what he was hearing right now. "Did you just said "Yourself"?" Sonic wasn't supposed to hear that, pretend he said "nose up" (iykyk). Shadow didn't notice that what he said. He actidently revealed that he kinda did cared for Sonic after all. "Uhh...why do you pay so much attention to my words?! Just shut up, Faker." "okay, I just didn't know that you care about me!~" Sonic chuckled. The blue hedgehog decided to tease him a bit longer. "But since now that you care about me, I'm okay by the way! You?" "...same. Why do you care? We're rivals." Sonic stood up and smirked mockingly. "Just because we're rivals it doesn't mean that I don't care about you. Also, the same reason why you."
Shadow also stood up. "Just shut up 𝖔𝖗 𝖊𝖑𝖘𝖊..." (I had to, I'm sorry.) "Or else what?" Sonic asked. Lol. I'm having way too much fun with this. "Or I'm gonna push you on the ground and won't let you stand up until the sun's set down." The ebony hedgehog wasn't joking. He would really do it if the blue one keeps that teasing tone and attatue towards him. Sonic's eyelids got a bit lower and he smirked. He enjoys to annoy Shadow whenever he has the chance to do so. But he did as his rival said. He didn't said a word, but judging the expression on his face it was quite easy for him to guess that Sonic was just teasing Shadow again. (yes I did copied that from c.ai. who asked? No one.)
"Oh so now you're gonna do as you're told to huh? Well, not funny. And wipe that smirk of your stupid face." Shadow was even more annoyed. One more thing like that and he would beat the crap out of that blue quilled hedgehog. Sonic still didn't said a thing. Shadow's reaction just made him smile more. He really likes to tease him. "...Yup, that's it." Shadow finally had enough, be grabbed Sonic and...
