You've spent your whole life, convincing yourself that you'll find your soulmate. The red string on your pinky a constant reminder. But over the years you begin to lose that hope. Its 1989 and you've just turned 21. The hope of finding your soulmate is gone, leaving you surrounded by friends and family that have met their match. It's depressing almost to think about it. Your family eager for you to find your match but you've given up.
You sit in your room quietly, laying there staring at your ceiling in silence. The silence ends abruptly as your phone begins to ring. You force yourself out of bed and get up to answer it.
"Hello?" you say groggily, sleepiness nights catching up to you and making you exhausted. You sigh as you hear your roommate on the other end.
"I have a surprise for you." she says, clearly smiling. You raise an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? What is it?" you ask. You roll your eyes when she tells you that you have to wait. "Oh, come on Vic!" you protest, starting to smile. After a few minutes you hang up the phone and turn to face your bed. You sigh, turning away from it. You decide to get dressed, grabbing a pair of baggy, black jeans and a tight Motörhead t-shirt. You grab your cellphone off your nightstand and leave your room. You hear the door of the apartment open and watch as your roommate Vic walks in.
"Girl! Look at you lookin' good today!" she smiles, locking the door behind her. You smile at her, following her to the kitchen expectantly. You watch in anticipation as she digs through her purse, pulling out two backstage passes to none other than Metallica. You gasp, looking at her with wide eyes which she responds to with a grin.
"We're seeing Metallica, baby!"
