8:11 a.m.

Yool's body lay on the cold floor as everyone gradually gathered around him. His eyes were still open, foggy white. Junhee went forth, crouching down next to him with the white sheet when the blare of the alarm sounded, catching everyone's attention.

"Before the last vote closed, the Doctor nominated a player to use their skill on."

Eunchan's hopeful eyes widened, holding his breath as he awaited, prayed, that it would say the name of who he wanted to hear.

"The nominated player was Heo Yool."

Eunchan scurried over, hunching over Yool's body, shaking him slightly. Yool's eyes dissolved back to normal, their onyx hue coming back as he gasped and sat upright, heaving. Eunchan's arms wrapped around him in a flash.

"You're alive. My God, you're actually alive," Eunchan sobbed into his shoulder, his voice a mere whisper as Yool hesitantly wrapped his arms around him too.

Yoonseo stared in disbelief. The one time the Doctor decides to use their ability, they use it on a mafia? Sure, they have no way of knowing anyone else's occupation, but still. The proof against Yool was right there. So why?

Eunchan slowly turned his head to look at the rest of them, his cheeks tear-stained. "Whoever saved him.. thank you. So, so much."

The others turned to look at each other, somehow trying to place who Yool's savior might be. Simultaneously, Nahee spoke up in a very serious manner.

"Wait.. then who died last night? There was no announcement."

And, as if on cue, the blaring sounded again, the mechanic female voice starting to speak.

"During the night, Park Wooram was executed by mafia. Park Wooram was a civilian."

Everyone stilled, particularly Eunchan and Yool, at the announcement.

"Wooram?", Junhee said finally. The others scattered to try and search for his body while Eunchan and Yool still stayed on the floor. Eunchan looked back at his friend, beyond ecstatic at their reunion, and helped him up as they staggered after the others.

His dead body floated motionlessly in the pool. His brown wet hair clung to the back of his head, clothes soaked to the bone, clinging to his skin. The others stared, unsure. His body rocked aimlessly with the gentle stream of the pool, tiny waves carrying him around. Junhee tested the water cautiously before going in and swimming towards him.

He pulled him back, and Hyunho helped him and Wooram back on the floor, a puddle of chlorine-scented water forming under them. Eunchan approached slowly, taking in the sight of Wooram's dead body with a heavy heart.

He might have gotten one friend back from the dead, but his other one had taken his place. And even worse, he'd passed thinking he hated him. Why had he said all those words to him?

"Eunchan," Jungwon spoke up, startling the boy. "Weren't you angry at Wooram yesterday? You shouted at each other quite a lot."

Eunchan slowly turned to look at her. Surely she couldn't think...

"Did you kill him?", Jungwon leaned against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest. Eunchan eyes widened, his heart dropping to his stomach.

"What are you saying..?", he whispered, his tone lowered in disbelief. Jungwon merely shrugged, leaving the possibility of it hanging in the air, and simply waited for someone else to pursue it.

The others regrouped, some staying back with Junhee to help carry Wooram's body. They gave Eunchan subtle looks. They were brief, but enough to tell him that he was their main suspect now. He looked down at his hands, noticing how violently they were shaking. His body, mind, gut and practically every other part of him screamed at him to say something, anything, to defend himself, convince the others, but he was frozen. Unmoving.
