DIRECTOR DION SHIFTED his gaze from Anne to the snowflake-water droplet necklace in her hand, then to the unconscious Juji and Xandri. He fixed the fallen chair and gestured for Anne to sit. Taking another chair, he sat in front of her and began, "As I mentioned, I sought help from the Divine Guardians.

"First, the Grand Wizard of Etals Kingdom conjured the twelve jewel necklaces and bestowed his blessing of protection upon them.

"I then went to the Land of Fairy Tales and met the Supreme Sorceress. She bestowed her blessing of the seal, creating a magic seal upon the jewels that would be able to hold the magic of the twelve.

"Next was the Moon Warrior of Dark Dimension. She locked divine weapons within the jewels that could only be summoned after releasing the Sorceress' seal. I believe that these weapons are entirely different from what any magician could conjure using their magic.

"And then, I orchestrated a series of tragic events for myself, until I finally fell into a comatose state. Only in that way could the living enter the Slate City: being half-dead."

Anne's hand flew to her mouth. "T-That was too much, Director!"

The director smiled at the sincere thought. "It doesn't matter now. I am here in front of you, alive, aren't I?" Anne could only nod in response.

Director Dion continued his narrative, "I met with the Phantom Duke and he bestowed blessings of odd abilities that the jewel wearer would be able to use while their magic is under the Supreme Sorceress' seal.

"Lastly, here, in the Magicless Region, the Solar Knight bestowed his blessing of steed. He told me that 'they' would be your loyal companions throughout your journey."

Anne took a deep breath as soon as the director finished. She took several deep breaths after the first while processing the newfound information.

"Does that mean..." she trailed off, "...the Divine Guardians meddled with the affair regarding the Legendary Magicians? I thought they only had one rule, and that is to never interfere with whatever is happening in the Mystic Universe? By creating and blessing these jewels, didn't they all become involved in this matter? Isn't that a violation of the rule?"

Director Dion placed a hand on Anne's shoulder, understanding where her questions came from. "The Eternal Guardians of All Universes gave them permission. The Eternal One is, specifically, the Goddess of Ice and Snow."

Anne gasped. "It's because of Xandri, isn't it? Because she's a Legendary Magician, that's why the Goddess herself granted permission to the Divine Guardians."

The director nodded with a smile, pulling his hand back from her shoulder. He then leaned back in the chair and crossed his arms, waiting as if he knew that Anne had another question to ask.

"But how about the God of Dark Burning Flames? Did he say anything about the matter?"

Director Dion smirked. "I knew you'd ask that. The God had no say in it as, according to the Goddess, she had him under her thumb. Besides, his chosen Master has, irrefutably, perished in the hands of our current enemy."

"He had to agree," Anne realized. "He had to agree or else we won't be able to end this silent war. As the Eternal Guardians, they already know that our strength alone won't be able to stand against the ever-cunning Death family."

"That is the case, indeed. But it could have been different if we still had the Master on our side."

Anne nodded in understanding. "Because if the two Mortal Guardians were present, they alone could wipe out an entire realm in a single day."

"I beg to differ, Miss Ninlil. The power of the two Mortal Guardians combined cannot match the joint forces of the Divine Guardians, even if their magic spirits are from the Eternal Guardians. One wrong move, one wrong decision... and the Mortal Guardians would be nothing but dust in the wind."

"Ah," Anne sighed; "it's because of their mortality, right? Of course, the immortals would be stronger." Director Dion agreed with a nod.

Their discussion ended in that instant as Xandri stirred awake. Noticing another person's weight on her, she called, "Juji... Juji... hey, wake up..."

Anne took Xandri's hand, taking her attention away from Juji as well. "How do you feel?"

Xandri smiled, replying, "Better now after some rest." Then, her gaze fell upon the item in Anne's other hand. "What's that?"

"A piece of jewelry that could confirm whether or not you are a Legendary Magician," answered Director Dion. "But I strongly believe this is meant to be yours, Mistress."

Anne placed the necklace on Xandri's palm, letting her observe the jeweled pendant.

"It's a snowflake... and a water droplet... and it's mine." Xandri wrapped her fingers around the jewel and pulled it close to her heart. "Thank you."

"Uhmm, that's no ordinary necklace, Xandri," Anne informed.

Xandri's lips curled into a knowing smile. "I know. I felt it."

"Felt?" asked Director Dion. "Care to elaborate, Miss Cahall?"

"Yeah, because I don't think Juji felt anything when she held her necklace," Anne seconded.

"It's because it's not my Water Spirit that felt it. It was my Spirit of Ice and Snow."
