Lauren Roy was always the one to rebel against their father. She didn't care for the business he created or the billions he made from the oppression of others. She wasn't as cut throat as her siblings or even thought the empire he created was a cancer to society not that she would ever say that, not exactly dinner party conversation.
So she went to medical school to train to be an doctor specialising in emergency medicine, wanting to help while her father destroys seemed to be an adequate way to say fuck you to Logan Roy.
Logan Roy. Her father, the ghost of him followed her around the country unable to escape the name she despises so much. Therefore when a position of head of ER became open in Manhattan a job she'd been trying to secure for majority of her career she accepted. The chance of running into anyone from or associated with Waystar was highly likely however that man has forced her from state to state yet everyone knew her so why not go home?
