"You know Wends, I just noticed something." Enid says as she lays down on her bed.
The clicking of the typewriter stops. "Noticed what?" Rather than answering, Enid continued to stare at her roommate. Wednesday, in return, stares back. The blonde smiled at this, making Wednesday blink. "I'm totally right. You blinked just now. I never actually realized it since it's so normal to me, you blinking." She chuckled.
"I don't particularly see the point you're trying to prove right now." Enid shifts, now sitting on the edge of her bed. Tilting her head in curiosity, pursing her lips slightly. "Honestly, me too." Thinking about what to say next, "Ajax mentioned something about you not blinking, and he's definitely not the only person to mention it."
Wednesday, not wanting to talk about a boy, let alone Enid's ex, goes back to typing instead. Not bothering to reply anymore. But Enid continues, "You're cute when you blink." The raven head freezes. Now fully aware of her eyelid muscles, stopping herself from blinking. She slowly turns her head to look at Enid, immediately meeting bright blue orbs. They both sit in silence for a few solid minutes. Wednesday is collecting herself and assessing the situation she's currently in. She's not sure how to react. Should she assume more of it? She knows Enid gives out compliments lightly, basically to everyone. There should be nothing to it, no need for further attention. Before she can say anything, Enid talks.
"What I meant is! Oh gosh, this is sooo random, but I just wanted to share about stuff Bianca and the others pointed out to me about your blinking habits and other things. Is that okay? My phone's charging, and Thing isn't here, so.. You might've guessed already that I'm bored, like reallyyy bored." She speaks in a hurry, barely breathing between her sentences. "I mean, only if that's totally okay with you! Would NOT want to bother you if you're too busy with your book right now."
The writer, being used to Enid's antics, confirms that she's okay with whatever Enid is going to say or do. But she doesn't move from her chair. Staring straight ahead at the wall.
"Besides your blinking, or lack thereof, you also don't smile according to people but I didn't really notice it before because you totally smile at me all the time, or maybe I'm just overanalyzing it?? You do this thing where the corner of your lips turn up in the tiney-tiniest way, I swear I'm not imagining it, right?"
Wednesday would have laughed at Enid's dilemma if only she was used to it. Laughing.
Too absorbed with the conversation and their own thoughts, Wednesday's "smile" slipped past both of them. Disappearing just as quickly as it appeared.
Enid proceeds with her list, seeing as Wednesday is entertained by her rambling. Not really knowing where this ends or how. "You also let me hug you now, occasionally. Even though you hated them the first time we met."
Processing this, Wednesday found herself looking at Enid, not remembering her sight leaving the wall in front of her. Not remembering turning her head towards her roommate. Brushing off that realization, she opens her mouth,
"I still fail to see the relevance of your findings, but I'll assume it's to ask me about my unusual behavior. Correct?" The wolf nods, feeling embarrassed for opening up the topic in the first place. She really didn't know why she was telling her roommate all this.
"I will admit, I wasn't aware of it. Of any of the things you just mentioned." But Wednesday didn't hate the idea of it. She was totally warming up to Enid, but she'll never tell that to anyone.
"I guess you could say that observing Wednesday Addams is my specialty."
"Indeed." Not bothering to deny a fact.
Like Enid with her observations, Wednesday realized something out of their conversation too.
Wednesday might have developed a small crush on Enid. Or maybe it was always there, and she just didn't realize until now. Either way, she'd never admit what she's feeling about her roommate, ever.

Enid totally slipped up when she called Wednesday cute and started rambling to save herself from the embarrassment of having to explain why she said it or having to confess that she likes Wednesday.
