Opposites Attract

Chapter 2

" Hey." He said. And instead of saying hi back like a normal person, I just stood there staring at him like a total idiot.

"Hi, I finally said back to him. My name is Victoria,  I will be showing you around the school." I said with my voice a little shakey. Damn I'm nervous and don't know why I feel this way .He smiled showing his pearly whites.

"Oh by the way my name is Brayden. Brayden Carter." Fuck. I was so turned on by his gorgeous looks.

" Ok then Brayden let's start shall we?" I said still gazing into his pretty blues.

We walked around for several minutes as I showed Brayden the gym and the cafeteria.

" Oh I forgot. Here's my class schedule." I got the schedule from him and noticed that we had almost every single class  including homeroom with me.

"Seems like we have most of the same classes together." I said smiling at the fact.

He smiled "I'd love to be in every class with you."  I couldn't help but blush.

Finally we made it to homeroom where I went and took my seat in the back of the class. Brayden stayed up front, showing Ms. Weeks his class schedule to verify that he was in this class period.

" Alright Mr. Carter, everything looks okay. You may take the seat in near the back by Victoria".

As he walked my way I couldn't help but stare at him. He sat down next by me and I could smell his Cool Water cologne. During the last few minutes of class, time seemed to slow if not stop completely. The whole time I was mesmerized by his beautiful blue eyes, his dark blonde hair, and is wonderful scent, and then the bell rang.

I quickly put all my stuff in my backpack and headed out of the class. '"Victoria wait !" I turned around to find out that Brayden was jogging towards me.

" Hey do you want to go out with me for lunch today?" He asked. lord knows I do but I just met him today. for all I know he could be a serial killer.

"Sure, I said. that's fine with me" What's wrong with me I just met this boy. oh well.

" Okay meet me by the cafeteria during lunchtime." my heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to bust out of my chest.

We both headed to the gym. we sat together on the very top of the bleachers watching some kids play basketball.

" So....Where are you from. I haven't seen you around here before." I asked finally breaking the ice.

" Well I grew up in one of those gated communities... I didn't really like it that much. I was tired of going to banquets with my parents and seeing the same people over and over again. I just wanted something new." Brayden said while running his hand through his hair.

" So...you decided to move out here?" the neighborhood out around here wasn't so bad but it wasn't good either.

I was fortunate that I lived in good neighborhood with minimum violence. "No no I don't lived on in this neighborhood. I live on 233 Cantura street." my mouth hung open...he lives right next door to me. how did I manage not seeing his family move in right next door to me?

"Wow...I live right next door to you" I said still trying to wrap my head around the fact.

" I didn't know that how did we miss each other?" he asked looking just as confused as I am. " I have no idea." the more we talked I found out that he moved in while me, my mom, and my sister were gone on a trip to Florida, and that he has an older sister Katie and a younger brother Austin. after a while we exchanged numbers and when the bell rang we headed our separate ways to our classes. Then lunch came.

I met Brayden by the cafeteria during lunch and we headed towards the student parking lot. Then he stopped by a huge Ford F-250 that was fixed for off-roading. it had guards all over, gigantic KC lights,  and it was sat high off the ground on huge off-roading tires.

" Damn, I said. its huge." 

"You like it?" he asked.

"Hell yeah !" I said as he opened the door for me and got into the truck.

As we pulled out "To Be Quite Honest" by Cruiserweight started playing.

"You like this song?" Brayden asked me.

" Yep, I like all different types of music." I said bobbing my head to the beat.

" Me too you should see all the different types of music I have on my Ipod one day." He said  looking at me and the road in front of us at the same time.

"Sure sounds like a plan." I said with confidence and then we were on our way.

We contemplated on fast-food restaurants and chose my second favorite next to McDonald's: Krystal's. he drove through the drive-thru and we both decided to share the big 14-pack together with two large Sprites and fries. Since we had a hour long lunch period, he parked and we laid back in our seats and ate in silence.

" Have you ever had a boyfriend before ?" Brayden asked breaking the silence.

"Yeah....I've had a few but they never stayed for long." I said. I wonder why he was asking me this question.

" Why not?" He asked me.

" Well I guess that I wasn't as attracted to either one of them as I thought I was." I said drifting off in some sort of a daze.

" Well how do you feel about me?" He asked me staring into my eyes.
