As Jungkook slowly regained consciousness, his eyes fluttered open, focusing on Eunbi's tear-streaked face. He struggled to speak, his voice barely a whisper. "Eunbi... I know Mingyu and I were mates, then enemies. But Yuri... she also turned her back and joined Mingyu. They betrayed me. They didn't show up when I had the accident."
A single tear rolled down his cheek, and his body began to tremble with sobs. The emotional toll seemed to overwhelm him, and Eunbi watched in horror as his eyes rolled back, and he fell unconscious again.
"Jungkook! No, please stay with me!" Eunbi screamed, frantically pressing the call button for the nurse. Her heart pounded as the seconds stretched into what felt like an eternity. Moments later, a team of doctors and nurses rushed into the room, pushing Eunbi aside gently but firmly.
"What's happening?" she cried, her voice shaking with fear.
One of the doctors quickly assessed Jungkook's condition. "His vitals are unstable. We need to get him to the ICU immediately. Please wait outside, miss."
Eunbi was left standing in the hallway, her mind racing with worry and despair. She felt utterly helpless, her heart breaking for Jungkook. She replayed his words about Mingyu and Yuri, the betrayal cutting deep. How could people they once considered friends turn their backs in such a dire moment?
Hours passed with agonizing slowness. Finally, a doctor emerged from the ICU, his expression serious but slightly more hopeful.
"He's stabilized for now," the doctor said, looking directly at Eunbi. "But the emotional stress is taking a toll on his already weakened state. We need to monitor him closely."
Eunbi nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Can I see him?"
The doctor hesitated but then gave a slight nod. "Briefly. He needs rest."
Eunbi entered the dimly lit ICU, her steps slow and careful. Jungkook lay in the bed, surrounded by monitors and IV drips. She took his hand, feeling the coolness of his skin against hers.
"Jungkook," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I'm here. And I'm not going anywhere. We'll get through this together."
Days turned into a routine of small victories and setbacks. Jungkook's physical condition improved slowly, but the emotional scars ran deep. Eunbi was his rock, never leaving his side, offering words of comfort and encouragement.
One day, as the sun cast a warm glow through the hospital window, Jungkook's eyes opened again. This time, there was a clarity in them that hadn't been there before.
"Eunbi," he said, his voice still weak but steadier. "Thank you for being here. For believing in me when no one else did."
Eunbi smiled, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "You don't have to thank me, Jungkook. We're a team, remember?"
He nodded, squeezing her hand gently. "I know. And I won't forget it. We'll face whatever comes next together."
As Jungkook continued to heal, the bond between them grew stronger, forged in the fire of shared adversity and unwavering support. They knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but they also knew they could face it together.
With each passing day, Jungkook's strength returned, and so did their dreams of future adventures. They talked about the places they wanted to visit, the experiences they longed to share, and the races they would someday run again.
And as they walked out of the hospital together, the sun shining brightly overhead, they were ready to face the world anew, side by side, their hearts intertwined with the promise of endless possibilities.
