Jungkook kissed Eunbi softly, their bodies swaying in sync with the slow rhythm of the music. For a moment, everything felt perfect, like time had paused just for them. But as he leaned back slightly, his eyes drifting over the room, something caught his attention.
Through the large windows that overlooked the backyard, he saw them-Mingyu and Yuri. They were standing close together under the dim light of the garden lanterns, talking in hushed tones
Jungkook's jaw clenched, a cold wave of anger rushing through him. **Betrayers**-the word echoed in his mind. Mingyu, his supposed friend, and Yuri... He couldn't even begin to wrap his head around it. He had trusted them both. He had confided in Mingyu during some of his lowest points, and Yuri.... his closet buddy.
Jungkook's mood darkened, his smile faltering for just a second before he quickly forced it back into place. This wasn't the time to let his emotions show. Not in front of Eunbi. Not when she was so happy tonight.
"Everything okay?" Eunbi asked, her voice soft and full of concern, breaking through his thoughts.
Jungkook blinked, snapping his gaze away from the window and focusing back on her. He could feel his heart pounding, but he managed to force a smile. "Yeah," he lied, his voice calm and steady. "Everything's fine. Just... a little distracted."
Eunbi frowned slightly, her hand coming up to rest on his cheek. "You sure? You looked upset for a second."
Jungkook gently took her hand and kissed her palm, trying to reassure her. "I'm sure. I'm here with you, that's all that matters."
Eunbi smiled, her eyes softening. "Good, because I want you all to myself tonight."
Jungkook chuckled, though the sound felt hollow in his throat. "You've got me," he said, pulling her closer as they continued to sway to the music.
But even as he held her, his mind was elsewhere, spinning with questions and doubts.
The song came to an end, and as they parted slightly, Eunbi tugged at his hand, pulling him toward a table. "Let's get a drink," she suggested, her face glowing with excitement.
Jungkook nodded, his smile tight as he followed her. As they reached the bar, he caught another glimpse of Mingyu and Yuri through the window. This time, Yuri was laughing, and Mingyu smirked .
"Here you go!" Eunbi chirped, handing him a drink as she picked up her own.
He took it without thinking, staring down at the liquid in his glass. He could feel the tension building inside him, but he couldn't let it spill over-not now. Not here.
"So," Eunbi said, taking a sip of her drink. "What's next for us, Mr. Jeon Jungkook? Now that college is behind us, what grand plans do you have?"
Jungkook glanced at her, trying to focus on the present, on her bright eyes and radiant smile. He set his drink down, his fingers brushing lightly against hers. "I don't know yet," he admitted, his voice softer. "But as long as I have you with me, I think I'll figure it out."
Eunbi's smile widened, and she reached up to cup his face, pulling him down for another kiss. "You always know just what to say," she whispered against his lips.
Jungkook kissed her back, but the warmth that usually filled him was dulled, clouded by the scene he couldn't unsee. He pulled away slightly, just enough to meet her gaze. "You're my everything, Eunbi," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
"And you're mine," she replied, her eyes shining with love.
Jungkook smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He couldn't shake the image of Mingyu and Yuri from his mind. But as he held Eunbi close, he made a silent promise to himself. **Not tonight**, he thought. He would deal with this later, after the party, when the time was right. For now, he needed to keep up the facade-for Eunbi's sake, for their sake.
As the night continued, Jungkook tried his best to stay present, to enjoy the moments with Eunbi, but the betrayal lingered at the back of his mind like a dark shadow. He knew he couldn't ignore it forever, but for now, he would pretend. He would smile, dance, and laugh with her, just like he had promised.
But once the party was over, the truth would come out. And when it did, everything might change.
