Teddy had waved an eager hand out the window of the massive Hogwarts express. He had heard stories about the infamous rides to Hogwarts, from Harry, and anyone else who would talk to him about it.
He had fantasized about coming to Hogwarts ever since he was told about the amazing friendships that were created throughout the years. He listened to the many stories of the Gryffindor common room during Christmas dinner and family reunions, and tales from the Slytherin common room from Draco, whenever Teddy was sent to stay with him.
Ever since then he had never given much thought on which house he'd like. He likes the idea of being Ambitious and resourceful like his cousin, Draco, but he also wants to be know for his loyalty and bravery, like the rest of his family. He once heard one of Harry's friends talk about her life in Ravenclaw, and found it to be magical and exciting. He couldn't quite remember her name.
He also knew that his mother was in Hufflepuff, which means she probably was kind, friendly, considerate.
No matter what he was sorted into, he was most excited to meet other kids his age. He didn't really care about which color he would have to wear, anyway, all colors would end up clashing with his bright teal hair.
As the train pulled out of the station, he waited for kids to come and sit with him. Once when Ron and Harry got rather drunk in New Year's Eve; they had recounted how they met on the train to their first year at Hogwarts and became best friends ever since then, how Harry and Ron ate a load of wizarding candies for the trolley witch, and how Ron tried to Jinx his pet rat with a silly spell. Teddy did remember the room getting quiet after the mention of the rat, and Harry taking extra sips of his fire whiskey in between signs.
Of course since then Teddy had assumed that all best friends at Hogwarts meet on the train. And with that idea he waited quietly in the corner of his seat.
However, minutes later, nobody came. The train car door had remained open allowing an inviting entrance for anyone who wish to enter. Teddy guessed that simply nobody wanted to sit with him.
Maybe it was because his frightening teal hair. He quickly changed it to black as it seemed more natural than teal. He brushed a hand through it trying to smooth it out.
He fixed the wrinkles in the sweater, tied his shoes tighter, and even sat up straighter. But none of this made any difference as a few more students skipped past him.
One boy stopped for a second and smiled at him, and Teddy sat up from his seat to politely acknowledge him in return. After a few hours, he accepted the fact nobody was coming.
He was quite upset for a while, seeing as he had not found his best friends in the train like how he believed he would. But soon enough the trolley witch stopped at his cabin.
"Anything from the trolley?"
Harry had given Teddy a bit of money to use on candies from the trolley, telling him he had to try Bertie Botts Every Flavorued Beans.
Instead he asked the kind witch, "Do you have any Chocolate?"
"Of course dear!" She said with a cheery smile similar to Molly's, "We have the new collection of chocolate frogs."
"New collection?" Teddy asked curiously.
The witch handed him one, "They've changed the wizards cards, to honor those who lost their lives in the war, poor souls" she paused, "fancy one?"
Teddy hesitated and then said "Uh, yea. Two please."
Teddy secretly wished he would get his parents, who had both died in the battle of Hogwarts. He wanted a picture of them to hold. How ever many he was shown, he never could really remember what they looked like.
