"Did you ever love me, P' Kim?"
"Never", Kim replied and left.
He didn't want to say it, he could never say such hurtful words to Chay. But life is not a fairytale, at least not for Kim. He can never be with Chay, but he will always love him ... unconditionally, till his last breath. Even if it hurts Kim, like dismembering every single vein, he still can't hurt Chay. He had to choose to leave Chay because that's the only way to keep him safe.
It's the last time Chay saw Kim, and nobody knows where he has been since then. It's more like nobody even cares. Kim is always like a lonely star in the big sky.
6 months passed since then...
Time heals everything. But not for Porchay, he hasn't moved on yet. He can still feel someone's presence near him. It seems like a silent spirit, someone is observing every single movement. Who can it be?
"I am not getting crazy, right?" Porchay has asked himself this question a thousand times in the past couple of months.
Porchay started doing daring things like skydiving, hiking all alone without informing anyone, leaving home for weeks without explaining anything after coming back, and hanging out with some weird guys. But surprisingly, every single time something bad was going to happen, someone always saved him. It can't be a coincidence anymore. It makes Porchay more daring nowadays.
It's the end of December now. Porchay left for hiking by himself, with the bare minimum of clothes and some hiking equipment, without telling anyone about his whereabouts. He lost his direction after hiking for more than 8 hours, and the night got colder and colder. There is no network connection on his phone. It doesn't matter to him anyway. He doesn't want to contact anyone, nor does he want anyone to contact him.
"Let's set up a tent here for tonight," Porchay said to himself.
After setting up the tent, Porchay was looking for a lighter to light the fire.
"Damn... Did I leave it on the table while packing up?"
That's exactly when he heard someone's footsteps, a cracking noise of tree branches probably someone stepped on them.
Porchay didn't look in that direction, just smiled by himself. Because it's not the first time this has happened to him. He has experienced this a lot in the past few months. Probably that's why he built a habit of talking to himself loudly, maybe he wanted someone to know what was happening to him.
Porchay used his mobile flashlight to fix the folding chair with a guitar in his hand.
"Hmm.... which song should I play? Any recommendation?", Porchay asked, don't know whom.
"Ahh... got it. It is been a long time since I touched a guitar. Let me check the tune first."
While tuning the thinnest string (E), it broke. "Ouch ..... Damn, it hurts."
"Forget it, it's just a broken string. I am fine, even after a heartbreak. I think the guitar will also be fine without one of its strings. Isn't it?"
Porchay smiled while looking at the sky and humming a random song while playing some chords on the guitar.
It's midnight now. The winds started blowing heavily. Porchay entered his tent while looking around one last time.
"Yes, no one is there. Whom was I even expecting?"
It rained the whole night, and Porchay was not able to sleep properly as the weather had gotten much colder and the clothes he brought with him weren't enough to keep him warm.
It stopped raining at dawn. Probably after that, he fell asleep.
Porchay woke up at 11:20 am and started to pack up his belongings. He wanted to climb much higher, but before that, he needed a lighter. Otherwise, it will be tough to serve in this winter.
"Done", Porchay said to himself while putting his hand in his pocket.
And to his 'surprise', he found a lighter in his pocket.
"Interesting?", Porchay smiled while looking in the direction from which the cracking sound came last night.
"It's been in my pocket the whole time, and I didn't even know."
He looked around once again, and like always, there was no one.
Porchay had some dry cake as breakfast while walking around a little bit. Trying to find a trace of someone. Probably a footprint, or something else, "anything..... please. I can't take it anymore. Please...... anything please," Porchay said to himself, and subconsciously tears started falling from his eyes.
