Did You ... Know Me?

Kim gained consciousness almost 1 hour ago. But there is no one in his cell, neither the boss nor his subordinates. From the moment they chained him here, he couldn't have a break from beating, either they were torturing him, splashing salt water on him, or Kim lost his consciousness in pain. Both his hands and legs got numb a long time ago, he tried to move his hand a little bit, but it hurt like hell. He was wearing a black leather jacket over his black tank top on the day they were kidnapped. Now, he was only wearing his tank top, which was torn badly.

"No wonder it's cold here," Kim mocked himself while looking at the blood and water pool he was kneeling on. His body is too weak to endure anything now. Even holding his head up to look around seems like the toughest job for now.

"Did Kinn agree with their condition? But they told me that Kinn didn't agree. Now, what gonna happen? How can I release Porchay from here? Was it too childish for me to surrender? Probably I should have fought back in the mountain, but he was right behind Porchay. I can't risk his life."

Kim's thought chain broke with the sound of the door opening. One of the subordinates entered the room. If Kim had met him on a normal day, he probably wouldn't have believed that this nice-looking guy could be a mafia member.

"Are you okay?" the guy asked while picking up the broken sticks that were used to beat Kim. Kim was just looking at him blankly. 

"I know.... You are in pain, and we tortured you like a beast. But we have our reasons, P'Kim," the guy said.

"P' Kim?", The sudden honorific sounds weird to Kim. He didn't say anything, just listening to the guy.

"I think you don't know, but your brothers captured our boss's younger brother, who was never a part of our mafia work. He didn't even know what kind of work we do. He just came from Singapore a month ago. Boss tricked him into meeting George, the underworld Godfather. That's when Kinn captured him. It's all started with just a misunderstanding."

"He didn't use P'Kinn while saying Kinn's name but used P'Kim for me. Did he know earlier? But it seems like I never met him", Kim is thinking to himself. Because the story isn't new to Kim, that kind of story is very common in this mafia world. Tricked, Scapegoat.... That's a part of this world.

"Boss just wanted to kidnap Chay to force them to release his brother. Capturing you was never a plan. But you were there in the mountain that day. We followed you guys the whole day. We thought you would go somewhere as it was raining heavily, but you stood there even in the storm. We saw you leaving in the morning, but probably you already sensed that someone was following. Boss told us to follow you just to ensure that you're not coming back, while he gonna handle Chay alone. One of our guys recognized you as Kinn's brother, and I don't know what came to his mind when he shot you. But, of course, it was his foolish and childish attempt. The bullet didn't even touch you but you shot 3 of us without a miss."

The guy continued while Kim was still listening to him silently.

" If we hadn't told you that Porchay was already kidnapped, we would probably have been shot by you on the spot. But I was surprised when you just surrendered yourself without saying a word after that.", the guy paused to look at Kim. He's probably looking for some reaction on Kim's face, but Kim is just looking at him blankly as always.

The guy squatted down and continued to say, "P'Kim, our boss isn't a bad guy. He didn't want to hurt Porchay, he is the same age as the boss's younger brother, and he is also not involved in anything like his own brother, but he couldn't control his anger and took all his anger out on you as Kinn refused to agree to our proposal."

There is some sort of guilt in the guy's eyes. "Why is he even saying that thing to me? What's the motive behind this conversation? Who sent this guy to talk to me?", these are the questions roaming in Kim's head now.

"Did you .... Know me?",  this is the only thing Kim asked.

The guy looked surprised when he heard this question. He was probably not expecting any questions like that. He suddenly stood up in a hurry and said, " No.... I don't. Why do you ask this?", he sounded nervous, and it was easily noticed by Kim.

Kim tried to smile slightly, but with all these bruises on his face, the smile was probably not even visible. Now there is an awkward silence in the room.

"I was one of those fans who used to stand in line for hours just to listen to your songs. You were my idol, whom I respect a lot. How could I not know you? But that was 2 years ago, before I dropped out of school. I am sure you don't even notice me in the crowd," he said to himself while looking at Kim, who was looking at the open door blankly.

"Oie Gemini, what are you doing here? Don't start to have fun all by yourself. Haha... "

The guy, Gemini, was holding a broken stick, and suddenly dropped it with a quick response, "I was not beating him. I was just ... "

"What?"

"Nothing, I was just cleaning the room."

"Wait, what? Cleaning? What is there to clean? He is already a total  sh*t," Don't know what grudge this guy had against Kim, he was looking at Kim like he just saw the most disgusted creature on earth and splashed a bucket of saltwater at Kim.

"That's how you need to learn to clean," he left while giving an angry look at Gemini. "Follow me", Gemini followed him while looking at Kim apologisingly. 

Kim was already feeling cold, and this sudden splash made Kim shiver in cold more than pain.

15 minutes later,

"Gem, apply some oientment on him, I don't want them to think I am a cruel guy like them.",  boss was speaking with Gemini while heading towards Kim's cell.

"Oie oie ... what happened to you?", boss holding up Kim's chin to look at him who was still shivering with cold.

"Good news or Bad news, choose one. Ahh...I forgot you don't speak. Let's start with a good one. I will release your little one today, and Porsche will come to pick him up now. As for you, let's wait to see how Kinn behaves."

"If there is even a scratch on him, I gonna give you the most painful death." the boss continued to say.

"Death.... " Kim smirked. Even if he is in pain, he is not someone who is scared of death.

"Don't you dare to mock me, you son of b*tch", the boss said angrily, picked up a whip and started hitting Kim randomly. At this point, Kim stopped feeling any pain.Isn't it part of their regular routine?

"Don't challenge me, Kim. I am letting Porchay go because I know, like my brother, he has nothing to do with your nasty business. But you and your brothers are not innocent. You guys deserve the cruelest death, and you know it very well,"  he kept beating Kim with more force after every single word and finally left the cell like a storm.
