Regulus and Barty had been dating for a long time. One day, Barty came to visit unannounced only to see Regulus ready to leave the house when Walburga and Orion were staying at the Malfoy manor overnight.

"Reg... Where are you going?"

"Barty? What are you doing here?"

Barty: i wanted to stay over... Get away from my dad

Reg: uh sure just uh just go up to my room, i and kreacher are going out real quick but we'll be back in around an hour

Barty: where are you going?

Reg: nowhere to worry about

Barty: this is about your obsession with his horcruxes isn't it? You found one and you're going after it.

Reg: yes what do you think, i can't let him live and torture people

Barty: yes you can! That's what i'm doing. You and i both know that i don't like his ideas either! But i'm not going on a trip to kill myself! No reg please, please don't go!

Reg: i'm sorry barty, i have to

Barty: reg please don't go. You're going to die regulus!

Reg: don't worry barty, i'll come back to you i promise trust me

Barty: no you wont! I swear to god reg the moment you go out that door, we're over. I swear the moment you leave me to sacrifice yourself, we're over. There will be no more us because if you leave me even after i beg you to st- reg? REG!

And he left. He left Barty, ending their relationship and leaving the poor boy in tears. Barty slept alone in Regulus's bed that night, crying himself to sleep then going home in the morning.

Regulus however, kept his word and did not die. Everyone thought he did but Kreacher knew he didn't. He gave the locket to Kreacher, knowing well that there was nothing for him to go back to. Barty broke up with him, he knew the boy wouldn't forgive him for leaving him after he begged hin to stay, his parents did not love him, his cousins were death eaters and his brother... Well his brother was on the light.

And so, Regulus decided that he would go live with his brother who welcomed him with open arms. Despite what everyone thought, they still maintained a good relationship, faking hatred.

Fast forward 15 years, Regulus was at hogwarts, as a teacher. He had revealed being alive to Dumbledore and he was accepted as history teacher instead of a ghost.

The first day of term rolled around and Mad Eye Moody made a spectacular entrance. However, when he saw Regulus, shock appeared for a few seconds before disappearing.

Regulus and Albus seemed to be the only ones who had noticed but after the feast, all thought of that was pushed from the mind of Regulus when Harry and Sirius came over to him along with Severus

Sev- Reg! You're alive!

And he hugged the man

Harry and Sirius (astronomy teacher) lead Regulus and Severus to Sirius's private quarters where they talked for hours then retired to bed, Harry in the tower, Sirius in his quarters, Severus in his down in the dungeons and Regulus in his.

Just when Regulus was about to fall asleep, there was a knocking at his door. He went to open in only to see... Mad eye Moody?

Mad-eye: let me in Black

Regulus let him in

Mad-eye: i'm here to investigate you, aren't you supposed to be dead

Regulus: *yawns* oh come off it Barty i know it's you

Barty: what the how

Regulus: i know you better than you think. And i think your polyjuice will wear off soon

Barty: so i better get to my ro-

Regulus: i'm sorry for leaving you Barty... It was for our own good. For us to be free, for the world to be free but i understand if you cant forgive me since i left you when you were begging me t-

Regulus's monologue was cut off by a kiss from Barty whose polyjuice had worn off

Barty: i still love you Reggie

Regulus: Bart- i love you too

The two went to Regulus's bed, Barty transfiguring his clothes into pyjamas to cuddle and sleep with Reg's arms around his waist.

Regulus- Bart?

Barty: yes?

Regulus: i know you were marked innocent but i heard that you helped Bellatrix torture the Longbottoms?

Barty: call it misery without you

Regulus chuckled and kissed the boy laying beside him

Reg: goodnight barty, i love you

Barty: i love you Reggie

They fell asleep, then the next day they revealed their relationship to those close to them. Barty never helped resurrect Voldemort, instead he revealed his whereabouts. The main soul was captured, the horcruxes found and destroyed, the soul killed by Harry, Regulus and Barty all at once. Bellatrix was found to be under the imperius curse like the Malfoys and they were set free.

2 years later, Barty and Regulus were standing on the balcony of their hotel honeymoon room in Mauritius, Regulus behind Barty with his hands around his waist.

Regulus: we're finally married..

Barty: impossibly

Regulus: i love you Barty

Barty: and i love you

He said as he spun around in his husband's arms. They made love that night.

Life went really well after that. Sirius and Remus who were dating adopted Harry and Regulus and Barty adopted Neville, Barty apologising to him over and over for a long time.

They also adopted more children just like Wolfstar, living happily for the rest of their lives💚
