1 year earlier...
"What's up newbie?" A tall, slender man walked into my office.
He had chocolate brown eyes, concealed under huge, thick-rimmed glasses. His hair was short and curly and his smile was lop-sided yet somehow still cute.
"Hi, my name is Bella." I replied.
"Ben, that's my name and making you feel welcome is my game." Although he was cheesy, he made me feel comforted and secure.
"You do realise how cheesy that sounded? Right?"
"I do indeed!" And with that, he spun around and strutted out of the office, shutting the door behind him.
I was absolutely bewildered by this udder change of events so I tried to fixate back on my new stack of work.
Suddenly I heard a small click, and saw the door handle turning. In strode Ben with his glasses perched on the end of his nose."Hello and good afternoon. My name is Bernard. "
"Is your name really Bernard?" I questioned giggling.
"No but I wanted to seem suave!"
I held back a second giggle but allowed a faint smile to cross my face.
He smiled back, and once again, exited my new office. I bit my lip (and old habit of mine), waiting for him to enter again.
Soon after, Ben re-entered, "Hi. I'm Ben." Once again, that cute, lopsided smile crossed his face again.
"Soo... Is this you, being you?" I inquired."Yep, I am in all my glory!" He replied.
"If this is you in all your glory, I might not want to see you when you're not showering in 'glory'."
"So is that no for today at lunch?"
"I never said no !"
"So it's a yes?"
" I never said yes! But if I did, where would it be?"
"Downstairs. At the cafe. "
"Ok then." And with that, I went back to my work. I tried to focus on work after the door had clicked, but all I could think about was Ben.
