THE DRAGON'S DANCE.

chapter three, a fair exchange.
[ season one, episode seven ]

THE SAME DAY HARWIN DEPARTS THE RED KEEP, THEY LEAVE FOR DRAGONSTONE, THEIR DRAGONS WITH THEM. Kaydness has an excitement about her that makes Visenya believes that the rumors of the Cannibal being her mate might be true. Dragonmont is on the island.

Visenya rests on the bed inside her new chambers. She cannot lie about the fact that she likes her chambers in the Red Keep more but the sanctity of Dragonstone means much more to her than the Red Keep.

The castle is sacred. And here, she does not have to fear Aegon or the potential marriage to Aemond, her mother has informed her that it will not happen. Never.

Two weeks pass.

That's when the raven arrives with the news. Ser Harwin Strong is dead. He died amongst fire. Aunt Laena is dead. She also died amongst fire, the flames produced hesitantly by Vhagar.

When Rhaenrya informed her daughter of his passing, she refused to believe. And then when she said that Lyonel is dead as well, Visenya believed the words of her mother.

Rhaenrya did not know what to do when Visenya cracked, when she turned over in her bed and threw up over the side and onto the floor. Visenya's cries could be heard through the castle for the rest of the night and the days to come.

Visenya has not spoken many words since the news reached her child ears. The news of Harwin's death causes her innocent heart to crack into two, for it turn colder than before. Her true-born father is dead. The blood of her blood.

Deep in her heart and her mind, the ten year old girl knows that it had not been accidental. There is no plausible explanation as to how a fire broke out in Harrenhall, a damp and broken place. Someone created that fire with their own hands.

Though now, the children of Rhaenrya stand at her side as they stand on the grounds of Driftmark, the home of their grandparents Corlys and Rhaenys.

Visenya holds the hand of Laenor, offering him as much comfort as she can muster. His hand grips her back, offering her as much comfort as he can muster.

With simple glance at the two of them, you might assume that they are a true father and daughter. But behind their closed doors, inside the castle of Dragonstone, they are simply just people who have lost two of the most important people in their lives. A daughter has lost her father and brother has lost his sister.

We join today at the Seat of the Sea to commit the Lady Laena of House Velaryon to the eternal waters, the dominion of the Merling King where He will guard her for all the days to come. As she sets to sea for her final voyage, the Lady Laena leaves two true-born daughters on the shore.
