chapter three, the cannibal.

SER LAENOR VELARYON IS DEAD. And with his death, comes marriage of Rhaenrya and Daemon. They're children are witness to it. They do not cry. The five of them are silent as they watch their last remaining parent marry in the traditions of Old Valryia.

Though Visenya is not happy about the immediate remarriage of her mother, she understands the customs. Rhaenrya is still able to bare heirs, it is her duty to marry again. So, she takes her second and final husband.

And when the newly formed family returns to Dragonstone, Visenya is the one to show Baela and Rhaena to their new chambers. Their chambers lie directly across from her own, and directly beside it.

The blood sisters can sense Visenya's own excitement about now having sisters, though she does well to hide it.

The five children gather in Baela's chambers as she unpacks her belongings.

"Visenya," Rhaena starts. "How many unclaimed dragons reside here?"

All four pairs of eyes move to her. Visenya tries to hide her shock from Rhaena's words. "Four. Grey Ghost, and The Cannibal, the wild dragons. I don't know where Sheapstealer resides after he left. We also have Silevrwing and Vermithor here as well, though untamed and not wild. And now. . . Seasmoke as well. But he's still on Driftmark."

"Would one accept me?" She asks.

Visenya shrugs. "I can't say. The wild dragons have never had riders I believe. Vermithor hasn't had a rider since Jaehaerys the First, and and no one has ridden Silverwing since Queen Alyssane."

"Vi," Jace starts. She looks over at her twin. "You should take Kaydness to Dragonmont to see if The Cannibal is there. I bet he isn't."

Visenya makes a face at him. "Do you wish for me to die, brother?"

His eyes widen. "Of course not!"

"That could be what happenes if I did such a thing. Kaydness may be his mate, but he is known for eating dragons." Visenya says.

"Smaller dragons and eggs. Not dragons the size of a castle, not his mate." Luke speaks up.

"Claiming him could rival Aemond's claim on Vhager." Baela says. They all look to her. "You would be the first Targaryen in history to claim more than one dragon. Vhagar is huge, yes, but Kaydness and The Cannibal would be unstoppable together. Kaydness has seen every Valyrian war and the Doom. The Cannibal is a beast who devours his own kind."

Visenya shakes her head. "I don't believe it would be possible to claim such an animal. He truly only obeys two things and that is himself and Kaydness. His mate and himself."

"I've read that he has green flames," Rhaena speaks up. "Like Balerion's black dragon fire."

Lucerys looks over at his older sister. "Do you think The Cannibal is really here?"

Visenya shrugs. "I can't know for certain."

"If he is, you would be the one to claim him." Lucerys tells her.
