Kimberly.
I stayed in the hotel for the night. Robert didn't want to leave, scared I was going to have another meltdown eventually he did leave. I'll admit my emotions change pretty quickly but damn, give me some credit. Elijah had thankfully brought me work clothes for the day. I had sent a message asking Robert to please treat me as he usually would. I knew how he was after a little spat. He would coddle me until I had to physically pry him away from me. Truthfully I wasn't the most creative with work outfits. Today I wore a tight-fitting baby blue coloured skirt and a white blouse, showing off a little cleavage. I hurried to finish curling my hair and applying my makeup before I rushed out to my car.
The office wasn't hard to miss, it had a large M on the building. Robert enjoyed being flashy at times. Elijah was in his own car and pulled up just beside me in the car park. I reached for my handbag and slammed the car door shut. If I wasn't with Robert, most of the time I would be late. I don't know what it was. I suppose Robert just rushed me. I flash my I.D and say goodbye to Elijah. He went to stand at Scott's side as usual.
I didn't even get to enter the elevator without wishing I had stayed home. "Good morning Mrs Mitchell." I hear a female voice from beside me. I turn to face the girl with dirty blonde hair that's also known for kissing my husband's ass on the daily.
I flash a fake smile which I hoped I was pulling off. "Morning, Ms Shaw." It's fair to say I don't like the women. I'm all for slutting it up, really, I am, but dude, he's my husband. Back off.
"How have you and Robert been?" Robert rarely spoke to the woman either, I'm not sure if she truly believed she has a chance or if she was just so desperate that she could not give up. Either way, I have to hand it to her for her perseverance.
"Ms Shaw, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't bring up Mr Mitchell and I's relationship." I honestly believed she purposely calls him by his first name to piss me off. That or she noticed Cole doing it and thought she could jump on the bandwagon.
She faked a pout. "Things are not going so well?" She gave me a nudge like we were gal-pals.
"Not that it concerns you Ava, but everything is great." I leave the elevator as the doors open with a ping. That woman drives me insane. She reminds me of those girls who peaked in high school and are sad that they can't bully people into doing whatever they want anymore.
"Mrs Mitchell," I grunt at the sound of my name. Give me a break. Turning to the left I see Cole heading my way. "Morning, Kim." He smiled.
"Cole." I nod and continue walking in the direction of my office. He followed along at my side.
"Everything good with you and Robert?" Cole's a tall man, he's only one inch shorter than Robert at 6"3. It was weird being friends with such tall men, especially since my father was 5 foot and a fart. I didn't need to stand on my tiptoes to see that he was beginning to bald. The tallest person in my family was Caleb and he was about 5"9. I used to think he was a giant until Robert hit his full height. I had to admit, I was pretty jealous.
"We're fine, thanks," I reply with a questioning tone. "You're the second person to ask me that. Why?"
"Maybe because you're here without him and you look as if you've put a lot of effort into your outfit today." He shrugs while taking a sip of his coffee. He then tilts his to-go cup in front of me "Want some?"
"I'd rather not." I raise my hand with a smile and wish him goodbye as I step into my office.
My computer didn't even finish loading before Savannah came charging into the room. "Everything okay with-"
