Robert.
Well, the peace didn't last long.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Kimberly screamed.
"I don't see how I'm in the wrong here, Grace, am I wrong?"
"Yes, Dad. Yes, you are." Grace grumbled angrily.
Kimberly was showing Ella the new house we had recently bought, and Dale had gotten jealous. The house was big, I'll admit. Plenty of guest bedrooms for when the family came to stay, A large kitchen, a huge garden, you name it, we likely had it. But I didn't see what was wrong with that. If we made the money, why couldn't we spend it on a nice place to live?
Except that wasn't Dale's issue. Dale believed that his daughter should now buy him a nicer home to live in so that he could move out of his cramped townhouse. By the look on his face, he thought she was going to say yes, too.
Kimberly said no.
Dale raised his voice, practically demanding that she should look after him since he looked after her. His Daughter. As a child. I hope we can agree on why that is completely ridiculous.
"You're truly pathetic, you know that? I can't believe-" The garden went silent at an unfamiliar noise. A loud one at that. It sounded as if something had exploded. "What the fuck was that?" Immediately her eyes met mine. I could feel it. She was blaming me.
She picked up her feet and headed for the garden gate. I was quick to follow behind her. She suddenly stopped walking. I bumped into her.
I had barely three seconds to read the situation before I felt her finger poking my chest. "What have you done?"
"What have I done?" My eyes grew wide. Wrapping my fingers around her wrist, I pulled her out of earshot of her family. "You think I'd blow up my own bastard car?"
"Well I don't know, you're telling more lies than a pathological liar lately. Maybe you've developed an explosion kink. Next, will you get on all fours and bark at me or something?!" She burst, stomping her foot like a child.
"What are you on about? You're just chatting shit now. Look, I'll call Cole-"
"Oh, great. Yet another thing Ramsey is involved in. Will he be joining us for sex next?"
"Will you just shut the fuck up?" I sounded a lot more aggressive than I intended. The words almost came out as a growl.
"Will you shape the fuck up?!"
My phone rang in my pocket earning yet another huff from Kimberly. Marriage falling apart. Pulling it out of my pocket I saw the last name I needed to see right now.
"Just answer it," Kim grumbled before turning on her heels and storming away.
Holding the phone to my ear, I snapped. "This better be good."

After my phone call with Cole – which was him telling me that it was indeed Eli that had caused the commotion – I searched for Kimberly. I could hear her before I saw her.
I rounded the corner of the staircase to see her standing with Elijah Black in a bedroom. "Give it to me." She snapped.
"I am not giving you a gun, Kimberly." Elijah gritted his teeth, it sounded like the argument had been going on for some time.
She folded her arms over her chest. "I'm probably a better shot than you."
"Oh yeah, and that's why you're the head of guards... oh wait." He tilted his head to the side, poking his lip in fake thought.
