Alora
Scanning the crowd, I walk into the coffee shop before focusing on my friends. It's been a few weeks since we all had free time just to hang out. I still haven't told any of them about my date with Harry or how working at the bookstore has been. I walk over to the table they have reserved prepared to put my belongings down and order but as I get closer I see my order sitting in the space on the table, waiting for me. It's a simple gesture but one that makes my heart swell. The girls are some of my favorite people, I don't know what I'd do without them. Seeing them almost makes me forget about the text I received from my mother until I hear Nicki's soft voice.
"Hey, A! Bella told us that you started to get sick last night, are you feeling better?" She smiles sweetly at me before taking a sip of her coffee.
"Yeah, I'm feeling better now." I trail off, knowing that I have to tell them. I don't keep anything from them. Ever. I pull out my chair and sit beside Bella and Josie. I take a sip of my drink, swallowing harshly. "Bella, I lied to you last night. It wasn't something I ate, I got a text from my mom." I wince and look down at my coffee, examining every bead of water dripping down the side of my cup from the ice melting.
I feel a gentle hand touch mine. I look up to see Maddie giving me a caring look. "What did she say?" She asks carefully, not wanting to trigger me.
"I don't really want to talk about it." I stutter
"A, I'm not going to pressure you but come on. You can tell us anything." Emma reassures me.
"S-She said 'I hope you're keeping up with your diet and exercises Alora. I wouldn't want all of my hard work to go to waste.'
"Oh hell no! She does not get to talk to you that way. All of her hard work?? What hard work, traumatizing you?! All of the credit goes to you and no one else. You did the dieting, you did the exercising. All she did was bully you into doing it. If I ever meet her I'm going to roundhouse her ass. With your permission of course." Kim finally ends her ramble.
Everyone just stares at her in shock as she casually sips her matcha. "What? You were all thinking it. I said what I meant and meant what I said."
A few seconds of silence pass before we're all laughing.
"On a lighter note, we still need details on the date and how it's been going at the store." Nicki wiggles her eyebrows.
"Well, he brought me to this warehouse that Matt let him borrow. It had giant canvases and buckets with water balloons in them except they weren't filled with water. They were filled with paint. He told me that we were going to let out all of our anger and feelings by throwing the balloons at the canvas. We didn't exactly get to do that part though." I blush and all of the girls' faces are covered in smirks.
"Not like that, you pervs!" I squeal before continuing the story.
"Anyway. I tried to throw one at him without him noticing but he caught it instead. Which I'll admit now that he's not around was very hot. We ended up getting into a balloon fight. We threw balloons at each other for what felt like forever until I went to grab one of the last ones and he pulled me into his chest. He asks me to give him a chance and I kiss him, giving him a yes."
