~ Third Person POV ~

A very, very loud yawn came from Mathias's mouth.
He opened his eyes, and was immediately met with the closed ones of his new girlfriend. He groaned. He'd only started dating her a month ago, and she already got on his nerves. At first, he thought she was nice and caring, but ended up being prissy and a brat. She only wanted to have sex with him...which hasn't happened yet. So, she just hangs on him and relishes in all his glory.
You see, Mathias was popular. And this was kind of an understatement.
At school, he was "King Mathias". Everyone knew who he was, and he knew who everyone was. He basically ruled over them, and they didn't have a problem with it.
Mathias wasn't a rude or demanding guy, but his ego was out of this world. Same with his two best friends, Gilbert and Alfred. They, the "Awesome Trio", were the leaders of basically everything.
Mathias was head of almost all the sports teams, his most infamous being football, he showed up to class late every day, and as the year dragged on, his grades dropped.
Gilbert was the clown of every class, the fastest runner in not only the school's track team, but in the city, and was able to barely make it to class on time everyday, coming in the room loudly, always having something to say about it.
Alfred was the good kid. While his ego almost matched theirs, his grades and attendance were much higher than Gilbert and Mathias's. Straight A student with perfect attendance. He was either with the other two, or hanging out with his girlfriend, Natalya. People wonder how Alfred managed to win the heart of the scariest girl in school, sister of the scariest guy in school.
On a level of one to ten on how much of a jerk squad they could be if they wanted to, I'd say a good 9.5.
And sadly, that wasn't rare.
But, what IS rare, is them being jerks without the other two around.
Like I said before, Mathias really isn't a jerk, though he's #2 in the group on how likely to be one. #1 has to be Gilbert, but that doesn't mean he always is. In fact, he might have a soft spot for the shy guy in the back of his third period. #3, of course, is Alfred. It's almost impossible to catch him being a jerk.
But that's enough about Mathias and his dorks. Let's get to the other half of our story.

Lukas let out a long, soft yawn, blinking his eyes open. He was immediately met with....the ceiling.
He lazily sat up.
Now here, is Lukas Bondevik.
He's new to this town--well, this country, having moved from Oslo, Norway. It seemed to him that they were never going to stop moving, as his mother's job kept sending them off. She said that here, Copenhagen, Denmark, was the last place. He hoped she was right.
Just yesterday he, his mother, and Emil had stopped by Mathias's school.
They were the new kids. Again.
But by now, Lukas and Emil had gotten used to it.
Emil Steilsson, by the way, is Lukas's younger brother. He's only a couple months behind Lukas, but that doesn't stop the Norwegian from bothering him about it.
Here's another thing. Emil was only half Norwegian. He and Lukas had different fathers, hence the last names. But, they didn't care.
Now, Lukas wasn't the "popular" type. He was nerdy, kept his grades up, never went to parties, and nearly stayed up all night at least four nights a week watching anime and/or horror movies. He also had a slight shy factor, and extreme anxiety. You wouldn't catch him within 5 meters of a stage.
So, you can guess he wouldn't really fit into Mathias's crowd. Not that he would ever WANT to, anyway.

They're one of a kind, both in their seperate worlds. But, they do have one thing in common.

You'll have to figure that out as the story goes.
