AIRA'S POV

My eyes widen in shock when Justin said that. I turned to him and he nodded with a serious face. The hell is wrong with this guy? I don't know what to react. Should I tell them the truth and embarrass Justin in front of the whole class?

"Aaaa...eee..." that's the only sound that came out of my mouth.

Everyone's eyes were on me. I felt the pressure and my hands started sweating.

"Bes, pumayag ka na. Baka mapahiya si Jah." whispered Cindy beside me. (Agree to it, don't embarrass Jah.)

I nodded slowly and forced a smile, "Yes po, sir."

"Okay, then that's settled. It's this
weekend, Saturday-Sunday. Please return your permission slips after your parents signed it." our teacher gave us both an envelope.

I was still in shock while I took it. I glanced at Jah and he was unfazed like he didn't do anything.

No! I hate trainings and camps!

After class, I ran to catch up on Jah, who was rapidly walking out of the classroom.

"Jah!" I called him and the students lurking in the hallway got my attention. I felt ashamed. Napalakas tawag ko sakanya. (I called him out loud)

Justin turned and waited for me. "Yes, Aira?"

I can sense a lot of eyes watching us. Jusko! How will I confront him about the leadership camp? They might hear me.

"Ummm. What was that awhile ago?" I whispered, I don't want them to hear that Jah lied earlier.

"Haaa???" Justin replied. Our classmates are loudly teasing us.

I leaned closer and whispered to his ear. Tiptoeing because of his height.

I haven't started speaking yet when someone pushed me towards Justin. I fell into Justin arms. He caught me like a reflex.

The one that pushed me laughed hysterically. The students around us were howling jesters.

I looked up and was surprised at how close Justin's face to mine. I can hear my heartbeat loudly.

"Okay ka lang?" asked Justin. (Are you okay?)

My eyes widened as I pulled away from him. The students around us were still teasing, cheering and squealing like crazy.

I swallowed a lump in my throat, "Ahh. Hmm." I was speechless. I shook my head and strode away fast with my head down.

Then I accidentally bumped someone hard. I was out balanced and that person placed his hand around my waist to steady my body. I grabbed his shirt for support.

"Aira." I know that voice.

I look forward and saw Ken, his brows furrowed.

"Ken..." we looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds. I got lost inside his eyes - his mysterious and captivating eyes. Then I realized our awkward situation. I stepped back.

"Sabi pala ni Justin may job interview tayo with his dad later after school." I blurted shakily, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. (Justin said we have a job interview after school.)

Ken shifted his eyes as Justin passed us by. His eyes were following Justin, eyeing him sharply.

My classmates are still noisy and squealing.

"Yiiiiii may competitor!" said one.

"JAIRA for the win!" screamed one.

"KAIRA tayo!" commented another one.
