FLASHBACK
*Liv's POV*
"Come on Ella what are you scared of?" I taunted as I sat high up in the tree in my backyard, waiting for her to climb up and join me.
She sighed, "Liv you're going to fall if I come up. We both aren't going to fit up there!" Part of me knew she was right, but the other part of me didn't care. We sat up here together last year and we sorta fit, we can do it again.
I braced myself against the tree trunk and crossed my arms. Before I knew it the back door of my neighbor's house slammed, catching me off guard and causing me to fall out of the tree and right onto my left arm. Ella rushed over to me and asked me if I was okay. When I shook my head no she ran inside to tell my mom.
While she ran inside, the neighbor who slammed their door and his friend came over to see what was going on.
"You okay there?" Jack asked. "Did you just fall out of that tree?" I could tell he was trying not to laugh, I mean it was pretty pathetic. The tree wasn't even that big.
"Yes I did, because you don't know how to shut a back door properly," I rolled my eyes and stood up.
Johnson looked at my arm and his face went white, "Umm Liv you might want to get that checked out."
I looked at my arm and it was obviously broken. My elbow was twisted and there was a bone about to pop out of my skin. I felt like I was about to pass out myself.
"Johnson can you go over to my house and tell my mom I'm helping Liv and I'll be back soon?" Jack asked. Johnson nodded and went back over to the Gilinsky's house. "So where did Ella go?" he asked as we walked toward my house.
I sighed, "She said she was going to tell my mom what happened but I think my arm was just too nasty for her to look at." That made him laugh a bit.
When we got inside we found Ella in the kitchen with my mom and laughing. Such a helpful friend wow. My mom heard me close the door and looked over at me.
"Oh my Olivia I didn't think your arm was that bad!" her face turned white as she looked at my arm, limply hanging by my side. "Get in the car we have to take you to the hospital. Ella you're coming too."
I said thanks to Jack for helping me out and I got into the car. As we pulled out of the driveway I saw him update Johnson about my arm. Then, being the 13 year olds they were, ran to Jack's house and started climbing one of his trees, making fun of what just happened to me.
The next day Jack came over, he said Johnson was away visiting family before we go back to school and he didn't have anything to do. So the two of us sat on the couch in the upstairs tv room watching movies and talking. I really wanted to bring up the day before but I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable answering why he was basically making fun of me.
We were on our second or third movie when Jack looked over at me. "Liv?" he asked.
"Yeah?" I responded while turning around to face him and readjusted the sling on my arm, I apparently fractured something in my shoulder when I fell whoops.
"Can I tell you something?" he asked. I nodded. "Well I mean I know we're only 13..but I mean we've been living next door to each other our whole lives, we've been through so much together and you're such a sweet girl and..I don't really know how else to say this other than to say that I have feelings for you.
I was shocked, I never thought about Jack any way other than the kid next door. I felt my cheeks start to burn and he giggled a bit. "I see you blushing over there missy."
"Well I mean nobody ever told me that before, it's sorta flattering. Plus you're like one of my closest friends so I mean I don't know." I looked down at the floor. "I'm scared to say anything because I don't want to hurt your feelings and I don't want anything to really happen like this between us, I love having you as a friend and we're only 13...please understand."
Jack nodded and I saw a hint of disappointment on his face. "I get it. I'm really happy to have you as a friend too," he hugged me and smiled.
PRESENT
*Jack's POV*
"Come on Johnson I want to go home, I'm exhausted!" I yelled into the door of the dressing room. We just finished a show at the Troubador and I couldn't wait to get home and take a nap.
I heard him groan from inside the room. "I'll be right out god why are you in such a rush." He finally opened the door and we walked out back to my car. "Can we stop and In n Out? I'm starving and the snacks in the dressing room were disgusting," Johnson whined.
"Yeah whatever," I sighed and took the next exit off the highway.
When we got there I parked and let Johnson run in to get his food. I really wasn't in the mood to deal with people this late at night. About five minutes later he came back with his food and an odd expression on his face.
"You okay man?" I asked as I started to drive out of the parking lot.
He nodded and finished chewing a bite of his burger, "Yeah but there was this girl in there with her friend and they look so familiar. I can't think of who they are but they seemed to recognize me too."
"You really need some sleep." After we became popular for our music we've played so many shows and met so many fans, this kid has to be hallucinating about recognizing some strangers.
"No, Jack I'm telling you I know them from somewhere," Johnson argued.
I shook my head, "Whatever you say."

I was laying in bed, finally, and just about to fall asleep when Johnson ran into my room yelling.
"If you're not bleeding and or dying you need to leave," I groaned as I rolled over and threw a pillow at him.
"No no Jack this is important! Look at what I found." He shoved his phone in my face so I took it and looked at the screen.
It was a twitter profile for a girl named Olivia Moore. The name sounded really familiar and I couldn't figure out where I heard it from. I scrolled down her profile and stumbled upon an old picture of her and three of her friends. I felt like I was going to pass out. The little brown haired boy with his arm around Olivia was me.
"She's the girl I saw at In n Out! I saw her and Ella! Don't you remember them!" Johnson yelled.
I felt myself go pale as I looked at her profile more. She lives out here in LA too, with Ella. She has a youtube channel. She remembers me.
I couldn't believe it. I was too shocked to say anything. "Johnson, do you remember that time when we were probably about 8 and I told you I was going to marry the girl Liv next door?" He nodded. "You do know we just found her?" I was starting to get sort of excited.
"Please don't tell me you still might have feelings for this girl you haven't spoken to in about five years," Johnson warned.
"Why would it matter if I still did?" I got out of bed and stood over Johnson's shoulder to see what he was doing.
He tapped on a picture of Liv and some guy kissing. "That's why."
I haven't talked to or seen her in years, but my heart still sank to see that picture.
