I sat alone in our bedroom, the silence of the night pressing in around me. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong. Tharn had been acting strange for weeks, but tonight, something had shifted even further. My thoughts raced as I replayed the events of the past few days in my mind, trying to make sense of it all.

I recalled seeing Tharn talking with a group of men dressed in black, all wearing dark sunglasses. The image had stuck with me, nagging at the back of my mind. Tharn had brushed off my questions when I asked about them, but I couldn't ignore the uneasy feeling that had settled in my gut.

I stood up and began to pace the room, my thoughts a jumble of confusion and worry. "There's something wrong with him, definitely," I muttered to myself. The words felt heavy on my tongue, a stark acknowledgment of the changes I had been trying to ignore.

I sat back down on the bed, running my hands through my hair in frustration. "Why were those men here? What are you hiding, Tharn?" I whispered to the empty room. "I know something's going on. You've changed so much, and it's not just about us anymore. Who are those men, and why were you talking to them?"

My mind raced with possibilities, each one more troubling than the last. "What if they're blackmailing him? Or worse, what if he's involved in something dangerous?" I shook my head, trying to dispel the dark thoughts. "No, I can't believe that. Tharn wouldn't do something like that. There has to be another explanation."

Determined to find answers, I decided to keep a closer eye on Tharn. I couldn't sit by and watch our relationship fall apart without trying to save it.

Later that night, I lay in bed, pretending to be asleep. I heard Tharn quietly slip out of the room, the sound of the door closing softly behind him. I waited a few moments before getting up and following him.

I moved silently through the house, careful not to make a sound. As I approached the living room, I heard muffled voices. I hid behind the doorframe, peeking around the corner to see Tharn talking to the same men in black I had seen before.

"We've given you enough time, Tharn," one of the men said in a low, threatening voice. "You need to make a decision. Are you with us or not?"

Tharn's voice was strained. "I told you, I need more time. This isn't easy for me."

Another man stepped forward, his face obscured by shadows. "Time is running out. If you don't commit, there will be consequences."

My heart pounded in my chest as I listened, trying to make sense of the conversation. What had Tharn gotten himself into?

Tharn sighed heavily. "I understand. Just... give me a little more time. I'll have an answer for you soon."

The men exchanged glances before nodding. "Fine. But remember, we're watching you. Don't make us regret giving you this chance."

As the men turned to leave, Tharn slumped against the wall, his shoulders sagging with the weight of their words. I felt a surge of empathy and fear for the man I loved.

Once the men were gone, I stepped out of my hiding place. "Tharn, what's going on? Who were those men?"

Tharn jumped, startled by my sudden appearance. "Type, what are you doing here?"
