Walking through the dimly lit forest, the moonlight filtered through the canopy above casting this silvery glow on the path ahead.

I had followed the sight of Azara, as she soared through the sky and descended into a clearing not far from the castle and my steps quickened, chest tight with the anticipation and apprehension that rose within.

When I reached the clearing, I stopped for a moment, taking in the sight that I was met with.

Azara had landed in the centre of a large cliff-like clearing, her massive form curled up on the grass. She had grown significantly over the past five years, now towering over any creature in the forest. Her scales were primarily black, glistening like polished obsidian in the moonlight. The webbing of her wings and the spikes along her spine shimmered a brilliant amethyst, catching the light and giving her an ethereal glow. Her eyes, the same striking amethyst hue, watched me with an intensity that caught my breath.

I could not deny the sense of awe I felt at the majestic beast. There was an undeniable beauty in her, a living myth brought to life by my wife's gifts. I marvelled at her, but also, silently questioned the necessity of such a creature when Rowen herself possessed enough strength to overpower any adversary.

I began my ascent up the slight hill toward the clearing, the brisk wind rustling the leaves of the surrounding trees, carrying with it the scents of the forest and the salty tang of the sea. As I approached, Azara raised her colossal head from the ground, her amethyst eyes locking onto me. For a moment, she studied me, and I held her gaze. Then, with a short, almost dismissive breath, she lowered her head again, allowing me to pass.

Shifting my gaze from Azara, I saw her standing at the edge of the cliff.

A simple black gown clung to her form, the long sleeves draping elegantly off her shoulders exposing the delicate curve of her neck.

Raven hair flowed freely in the breeze, cascading down to her waist like a perpetual waterfall, a stark contrast to the pale moonlight that illuminated her figure.
