It was a rainy autumn night, Sofia was in her room reading since she believed that being alone is better even if it's living hell, she believed that isolating herself was better than being around people that doesn't know how to treat others. But then she thought to go tough her family photo album.
Sofia opened the album and saw a picture of her mother and her father but the face of her father was blurred by a black sharpie so she decided to ask her mother about it.
She went to her mother's room and asked
- mother, why is the face of my father coloured black?
- Darling, I really don't want to talk about it, I know you're almost 17 but you're still to young to know about him, now go to your room.
Sofia got curious but she listened to her mother and went to her room and taught about why her mother didn't want to talk about him and thought "is he a as bad as the other people? Or is he even worse? Why doesn't my mother want to talk about him?"
The next day Sofia woke up and saw a mailman trough the window and ran outside to check the mailbox because a mailman shows up rarely. Sofia opened the mailbox and saw a letter, she took it and ran to her room.
Young girl was confused the letter was apparently from her father that she never saw, or at least doesn't remember it.
She opened the letter and it said:
Dear Sofia,
I'm Jack, your father I hope things are going great with your mother, I really miss both of you my sweet angels, I apologise for running away but I had to do so that I could keep you safe.
It's been a long time so I would like to invite you to my house for couple days, I don't know how will your mother react to this since I left both of you without saying a word.
I'll send someone to pick you up in the afternoon.

Sofia was shocked, and immediately went to talk to her mother.
- Mother, I got a letter from my father.
And gave it to her
- Oh god, so now he wants to see you? After 13 years? Fine you can go but please if something happens sent me a letter.
Sofia nodded and went to her room to pack her stuff
