The two girls stared at each other in shock, it was almost like a game to see who would break first. Ivy's jaw clenched as she bit the inside of her cheek, a nervous habit that gracie had picked up on, she still knew the girl inside out, how she took her coffee, her favourite songs, the way she'd always play with gracie's fingers when she was nervous, where she always wanted to get married, the hoodie of gracie's that she always wore, why she felt alone most of her childhood because her mom was an international superstar. Gracie knew Ivy, more than she'd ever like to admit.

The first one to break eye contact was Gracie, whose eyes dropped down to the floor, suddenly finding her shoes very interesting. She took an inaudible gulp before saying
„Vee, um, we have to get backstage. Taylor told me to come and get you."
Ivy scoffed loudly while staring at Gracie with resentment,
„I'm not a child" Ivy spoke bitterly „I don't need your help Gracie."
The lack of nickname hurt Gracie more than she'd like to admit as she furrowed her eyebrows at the harsh tone Ivy was talking in. With a deep breath Gracie started to move towards the blonde girl, whose hands were gripping the vanity infront of her so hard she felt as though it might splinter. Gracie studied her face intently, memorising every new aspect that has changed since the breakup.

Both of their breathings were shallow as Ivy looked anywhere but Gracie, hoping for an immediate distraction or reason to get the hell out of there. She knew if she looked in gracie's wide eyes then she wouldn't be able to look away, Gracie was like a drug, you could never get enough of her, she was intoxicating with her stupid bows in hair and face on every billboard and the sweet scent of perfume that always lingered around her. Ivy hated her, but most of all she hated how she could never have her.

Gracie's cold hand held Ivy's cheek delicately, cupping it while rubbing gentle circles with her thumb. „You know Vee, you're still the prettiest girl i've ever seen"
Ivy could feel Gracie's hot breath on her skin as she spoke, the words making Ivy's heart flutter and cheeks flame up in a deep crimson.

Suddenly Ivy regained all consciousness and pulled away rather suddenly before bitterly saying
„Don't stand here and lie to my face when you left me"
And with that Ivy was heading for the door.

The constant sound of the fans roars ringed in Ivy's ears as she stepped out onto the stage.
„Hello Sydney!"
she boomed as the crowd went even more wild than before
„I was just wondering if you guys had a little time before Taylor came on?"
a mixture of 'i love you' and 'fuck yeah' and 'holy shit' were heard from the audience
„Alright perfect! So...have you guys ever been in a relationship you thought would never end and you can never really let go but you know it's for the better?" she heard a loud uproar from the crowd and with a chuckle spoke
„Yeah me too, me too-" but was instantly cut off by the intro of last kiss blasting through the stadium.

————————————————

As the bridge approached Ivy caught Gracie's longing stare in the VIP tent, watching Ivy with the most adorning smile on her face that always made Ivy's insides curl. Maintaining eye contact with Gracie she started to sing
„So i'll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep, And i feel you forget me like i used to feel you breathe"
Unable to take any more of the eye contact she tore her eyes away as she finished the song. She wasn't in any rush though, as she knew after this song Gracie would be joining her on stage.
„So, i've heard a lot of people call this next song 'the female rage' anthem? Is that right Sydney?" cheers erupted loudly in response
„Good, like mother like daughter," she grins with a little giggle

————————————————

„-but we're, knee deep in passenger seat and you're eating me out is it causal now? Two weeks and your mom invites me to her house in long beach is it casual now and i know what you tell your friends, it's casual, if it's casual now then baby get me off again, if it's casual, it's causal now.."
Gracie knew this song was about her, she knew ever since it came out and her phone was spammed with millions of calls from Olivia demanding she listens to it. She doesn't need Olivia to remind her to listen to any of Ivy's new songs, she does it anyways, very willingly at that. What she doesn't know is that every song Ivy writes is about her, the drastic change of love songs to breakup songs after they broke-up was a massive hint. Gracie was Ivy's muse.
The beat dropped as the outro began to play,
„I fucked you in the bathroom when we went to dinner, your parents at the table you wonder why i'm bitter!? Bragging to your friends i get off when you hit it, i hate to tell the truth but i'm sorry, dude, you didn't. I hate that i let this drag on for so long now i hate myself, hate that I let this drag on so long" the blonde haired girl took a deep breath before belting the final lyric "-you can go to hell!"

————————————————

"Now Sydney, you have just been incredible for me tonight, such a good little crowd, so i say you guys deserve a reward, hm?" Ivy spoke with a loud grin, it was all fake though especially since she knew what the surprise was. She took a deep breath as she wandered over to where the guitars were and picked up two, placing one in-front of the remaining microphone stand.
"So, as you guys know throughout my career i've experimented a little bit, but one of my most successful hits was actually a collaborative project with one of my.." she fumbled on her words before settling on friend, but played it off with a fake smile.
"Now, now i've done a lot of duets with a lot of different artists but this is definitely my favourite one so far, please welcome the showstopping Gracie Abrams to the stage!"
Ivy starts to play the intro to her lead single 'About You' on guitar, focusing her eyes on gracie who was waving to fans while walking up to the spot next to her.

————————————————

The two girls played in impressive unison, their voiced worked perfectly together, almost like they were woven into the same one. As the chorus approached Gracie sang perfectly, hitting every note as Ivy flawlessly played the guitar, but, when Ivy tried to sneak a glance at Gracie she just saw Gracie staring at her lovingly. They maintained eye contact while Gracie sung
"Do you think i have forgotten? Do you think I have forgotten? Do you think i have forgotten? About you?" Ivy took a deep breath, still staring deeply into Gracie's captivating eyes and began to sing the chorus
„There was something 'bout you now that I can't remember. It's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender. And i miss you on the train, i miss you in the morning. I never know what to think about so-" she smiled wildly, and for the first time this song, honestly,
„I think about you"
Gracie begins to sing the backup vocals with an equally big smile on her face
„So don't let go"

————————————————

After the song finished Gracie instantly engulfed Ivy in a tight hug, Ivy shocked by the sudden movement but still hugged her back sweetly. Waving goodbye to the crowd they both walked off the stage giggling and holding onto one another. However, as soon as they were out of public eye Ivy let go abruptly of Gracie's hand, a sour expression taking over her face. Gracie's smile faltered and a look of hurt penetrated deep in her eyes.
„Come on Vee.." she muttered while grabbing the blonde girl's arm to spin her around and face her. When their inches were faces apart and Gracie kept a firm grab on her arm she spoke up again,
„You can't expect me to believe what we had out there wasn't special or wasn't or moment or-"
she was cut of by Ivy raising her voice
"No, it wasn't a moment Gracie."
Gracie raised her voice to match Ivy's level and spoke with desperation
„Look I know i'm an asshole and I know I messed everything up but why are you throwing us away!?"
Ivy laughed bitterly
„Me!? Throwing us away!? You threw us away when you left me, you threw us away when you instantly moved on, you threw us away when you said what we had wasn't even romantic!? When will you understand this Gracie? It's your fault we ended, you ruined the one good thing in your life and now you have to live with it" she finished with a deep breath while pointing her finger at Gracie aggressively,
„Just fuck off and leave me alone." and with that she walked away, leaving Gracie there shell-shocked and with an undeniable pang in her heart.
