......Chapter 1.........................................

As the pinecones by my feet scratch my legs, and leaves brush against my arms, I stare into the darkness waiting for him to come. I sit there waiting for what seems like many minutes when I begin to think

"Am I too late? What if he is gone already?"

He could probably be miles away by now, he is a fast one. When he'd run and I'd chase him, he would always win. When we'd play hide and seek, he would always win. When we'd play dominoes... he'd always win. He's not good at setting up, he only pushes. He's not a loser. At least I know where ever he is, he is safe.

When I feel the wind on my face and look up, seeing the sun rising, I know it's time to give up and leave.

'SWISH' the leaves in the bush beside me are rustling. I know he's here. I crouch down, getting ready, then pounce. I leap into a pile of autumn leaves, grabbing something. Feeling something warm beneath me, I am fairly sure I have him.

Then, out of no where, I hear "MOOOOOOOWWWW!!" and I know I have him. I help him up, making sure I didn't hurt him. His hair is a little matted but he is okay.

"Come on Mr.Whiskers," I say, "You're coming with me!"

I have finally got him, and now I can walk home with the feeling of accomplishment.

The End.
