A/N: Hey Guys, I am the author of the story. I am sorry for leaving you on a cliffhanger. I lost motivation, so I just left it on a cliffhanger, it has been a while since I posted a chapter on Wattpad and this might be the longest chapter I wrote in this book. I am happy that you guys are reading this book. Now we can get back to the book.
Kaito and Liya are running along the maze, making sure not to make noise, or the enemy will find them. Soon enough, Liya gets exhausted and falls to the ground.
"Kaito, we have been walking for hours now. Can we at least rest for a bit?" Liya panted loudly and sat on the hard, flat, dusty floor.
"No, we can't just rest here, Liya. We must follow the plan, remember!" Kaito exclaimed and dragged Liya with a hint of annoyance on his face.
"There's no need to rush Kaito. We have been walking for hours. It would be more sensible for us to rest our bodies before attacking the enemy." Liya responded simultaneously, sitting on the floor and laying her head on the maze's wall.
"You are just trying to act smart right now plus what you are saying is nonsense and you are just being lazy right now." Kaito scoffed, pulling her more and more, but Liya didn't budge.
"Maybe I am lazy, but I won't move at all, and you can't make me!" Liya pouted and folded her hand. She gave up on the plan.
"What a fool," Kaito mumbled under his breath, putting one of his hands through his silky black hair.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME!!!" Liya exclaimed furiously, about to have a huge catfight with Kaito.
"If you had ears you should have known what I just said, moron!" Kaito stated while glaring at Liya.
Kaito and Liya kept fighting for hours until they couldn't talk to each other, so they crossed their arms while looking away somewhere opposite them.
"We know you guys are out there; now show yourself. We aren't stupid enough not to notice your presence," Kaito called out to the eavesdroppers, and his eyes were directed to one of the maze's walls.
"Well, it looks like we've got a genius on our hands," Astrid mentioned while revealing herself. But she didn't come out alone. There was a blonde-haired blue-eyed boy with an arrogant smirk on his face.
"Astrid, it's nice to see you here. It looks like you brought one of my close friends with you. What a tremendous encounter," Liya stated, looking at them with a slight grin.
"Sorry for interrupting your conversation but Liya can you please introduce me to your acquaintances." Kaito requested while observing their surroundings and looking at the small details.
."The girl with the curly hair is Astrid. Yuki introduced me to her when we were still in our class and the boy next to her was my friend's brother Ren but it looks like they have something that belongs to us." Liya clarified her eyes and glanced at the two gems in their bag.
"You guys have something we need, too, so if I were you, I would hand it over to us fast," Ren, the blonde-haired boy, noted confidently, still holding the arrogant smirk.
"I didn't get to this school just to leave on the first day..." Kaito grumbled while moving back a little, giving Liya a glare that looked like a sign.
"Looks like it is no time to be Mr. Nice Guy," Ren grinned and moved back a little to make a bigger space for them to fight.
Liya understood what the sign Kaito gave was and stood close to him. The 4 of them glared at each other waiting for one of them to attack. Liya's hands spread out an aura that comes in the form of dark gas and she says calmly "Veil of death".
