Chapter 6

SHIBA MIYUKI

Magic was believed to be an amalgamation of powers, obtained my mankind to fulfill their desires. It was a theory of sorts, one that greatly explained her and her brother's prowess.

Miya and Maya Yotsuba had suffered greatly in their life, and it was the desire of Lady Maya Yotsuba to watch the world burn that had resulted in the birth of her brother, and it had been her own mother's desire to contain that power which had given birth to herself.

They were born per the wishes of those before them, to fulfill their heart's desire. It was why she loved her brother as she did, cared for him as she did for she knew that the prejudice and hate he suffered was not because of his own actions, but for power he held in himself.

And yet what would become of a child who was not born but bred, created, all for one purpose? Global domination. Inei Yotsuba was one such person, and Miyuki had forced herself to read about his life and had not been able to sleep all night because of it.

Such depravity. Such cruelty, it was unimaginable, worse than what even her brother went through.

And yet now, as he sat there surrounded by a cabal of girls as they waited for their homeroom, she found herself surprised at his humanity as he smiled and greeted them all.

Instantly, she saw the boys' eyes turn towards her, gazes filled with awe and admiration. She had felt such gazes on herself nearly all her life as she searched for her seat and found herself seated next to Inei-kun.

She sat down in her seat, and felt a swarm of boys surround her, and she would normally have been able to deal with them, yet her sleepless night affected her mood and as she saw them surround her, she began to feel agitated.

"Miyuki-san!""Where are you from!" "You are so elegant!" "Come sit beside me, Miyuki-san. I am Moris...."

And then suddenly they all stopped, their bodies went stiff infront of her eyes, and she felt a sudden chill pass over her, as psions filled the air.

"Maa Maa, class is about to begin. Why don't you all leave Miss Miyuki all alone?" Inei-kun added, and his own reputation and name were enough to force all the boys to leave her alone as he looked at them with his red eyes.

"Who a...." and the smile vanished from his face in an instant.

"I said leave her," and she saw the boy's face pale as his whole body began to shake, and then he backed off leaving her all alone, the pressure had been enough to make the girls leave him as well.

Their eyes met and he raised a brow.

"You seem rather tired for, especially for a first day," he said, and her lips thinned.

"Thank you for your help, Yots..."

"Call me, Inei, Yotsuba makes it all too formal," he cut in, and she nodded.

"Inei-kun, I am grateful for your help," she said as she gave him a small bow.

"There is no need for that. So, what have you so down in the morning, or is it that you hate school just like me," he asked.

"Then why are you here?" she asked, "did Aunt Maya force you to attend?"

And he shrugged.

"In some ways, she did. But she made me an offer, which I accepted without hashing out the details," he said as he plopped his head down, tiredly making her chuckle.

"That witch! She fooled me," he complained wearily as he rubbed his face. And she had never seen anyone call her Aunt a witch like that. Even she had always maintained absolute decorum when it came to her.
