During the weekend, the company hosted a grand party, a much-anticipated event that promised a night of fun, food, and camaraderie.
Jeonghan, however, felt a sense of dread. The thought of mingling with people, putting on a brave face, and pretending everything was fine felt overwhelming.
He decided he didn't want to go, preferring the solace of his apartment.
Seungcheol, however, had other plans. He showed up at Jeonghan's door, determined to drag him out of his self-imposed isolation.
"Jeonghan, you can't just cut yourself off from everyone,"
Seungcheol said firmly, standing in Jeonghan's living room.
"It's not healthy. You need to get out, be with people, and have some fun."
Jeonghan sighed, leaning back on his couch.
"I just don't feel like it, Seungcheol. I can't handle all the small talk and pretending right now."
Seungcheol sat down next to him, his expression softening.
"I get it, Han. But isolating yourself isn't going to help. You need to keep living your life. Besides, the others will be there too. It'll be good for you to be around friends."
Jeonghan looked at Seungcheol, seeing the concern in his eyes.
He knew Seungcheol was right, but the thought of facing everyone still felt daunting.
"What if I can't handle it? What if I break down?"
Seungcheol placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Then I'll be there for you."
After a moment of hesitation, Jeonghan nodded.
"Okay, I'll go. But only because you're making me."
Seungcheol smiled, relieved.
"That's the spirit. Now, let's get you ready."
A few hours later, they arrived at the party.
The venue was beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was lively with music, laughter, and chatter filling the air.
As they walked in, they were greeted by their friends, every single one of their friend was there, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
"Hannie hyung! Cheolie hyung!"
Mingyu called out, waving them over.
The rest of the friends joined them, their smiles bright and their spirits high.
"Hey, it's good to see you both."
Wonwoo said, giving Jeonghan a friendly pat on the back.
