Nobody knew why Imry hadn't come out of his room for four days straight. Ryam had told everyone he must have had come down with something, but even he knew something wasn't right.
"Can I come in?" He called out to Imry through the door. He tried to open it again but it was still locked.
"Please go away, I don't want to speak to you", he replied cautiously.
"I'll knock his door down if you don't open up... One... Two...". Before he got to three, he heard the sound of Imry's door unlocking, so he burst through it.
"What's wrong son, has anything happened?" Ryam asked in his kindest voice.
"No, nothing", Imry quickly answered back.
"Son, if you don't tell me, I can't help you". Everything was silent for a few moments, until Imry plucked up the courage to tell his father what he had seen him do. Selyse, Melessa and Axell tip-toed eagerly up the old green stained stairs after hearing the commotion to see what was going on.
"Why did you hit Melessa father, she's my cousin and I love her?!" He yelled.
"She is evil, don't you get it?! She has tore this family apart and for that I can never love her! Besides, she deserves a beating or two, the spoiled brat!" He shrieked through the house. Melessa started to weep, which turned Ryam's attention to the three children standing behind him, horrifies. He was not pleased. He grabbed a belt which he kept in his trousers pocket and pounced for Melessa. Bravely, Axell jumped in front of her, and before Ryam could stop himself he mistakingly hit him off his feet and down the stairs...
All Selyse could see was red; not just the blood, but he anger towards her father. If her brother hadn't been seriously injured, she swore she could have murdered him. However, she was too scared and shocked at what had just happened to assist, so her father sprinted down the stairs to see what damage he had done. Selyse had never seen her uncle cry before, and it was a strange sight.
"He's unconscious, but alive!" He called out sounding relieved. Selyse should have been down there thinking of things to do to try and help, but she was frozen to her place due to the blood boiling anger but also utter fear towards her father.
