This takes place during BFB post split.
"Did... did you just ask what I think you just asked?" Lollipop asked, the question completely throwing her for a loop. Cake At Stake had just ended. The prize was being able to breathe. And Bubble had asked her to give her some air... without a straw.
"What do you mean?" Bubble asked, almost as if she was playing dumb. But she knew exactly what Lollipop was talking about.
Lollipop sat there for a moment, before instantly snapping. "WHAT ELSE COULD YOU USE? What else than a straw could help you get the air through besides-" That's when it dawned on her. Her eyes widened, and she pulled Bubble to the back of the ship, while Leafy, Teardrop, and Gelatin simply chatted.
"Uhm... Lolly..." Bubble began to ask, seemingly pulling a nickname out of thin air, "I was wondering if you'd maybe... after the challenge, wanna... you know." She had a tough time trying to ask for it, because who wouldn't be nervous when asking someone out?
Lollipop sighed, and thought about it for a moment. Would she wanna go out with Bubble? If she did, what would others think of her? How would Gelatin feel about it? She sat there for maybe a minute, two at most. "...fine. Meet me over by the garden after the challenge." She muttered, before going back to rest of the team to finish the challenge.
Bubble was absolutely ecstatic about this news, and it didn't take long for time to fly by and the challenge to be over. So, towards sunset, Bubble did as she was told, and went over to the garden, and saw Lollipop waiting for her there, with a basket and all the fixings.
"Don't worry, this wasn't my idea." Lollipop sighed, pointing to the basket. "Gelatin told me I should make this super romantic picnic. And he wouldn't let me not do it." She continued to explain, as she set everything up on the ground. "Don't worry, I won't be as cheesy as him though." Lollipop then said with a chuckle, as she sat down on the blanket, and began preparing food for Bubble.
Bubble sat down as well, honestly surprised that Lollipop even attempted to go this far for the date. She didn't seem like the type of person to even accept a date. "Well, thank you still, for doing all this." She replied, taking some of the food and beginning to eat it. "Wow, this is really good!" Bubble then complimented, the food in her mouth and her accent making it hard to understand her.
"I can tell. I made it all myself. You'd be surprised how good I am at everything." Lollipop explained. She did not make it all by herself. She doesn't know how to cook at all. But she wanted to look more impressive, and Bubble believed every single word she said.
"Well I believe it. You seem like someone who would be good at cooking." Bubble replied, and the two of them simply just enjoyed the food and made conversation, even if Lollipop struggled to do so. She wasn't the romantic type, but she wanted to at least give Bubble a chance. So that's why she set up the date, and why she even accepted in the first place.
Later in the night, they decided to pack up the picnic and go for a walk around the Pillary Ruins. A night under the stars, how befitting of a romantic occasion. "It's so nice out..." Bubble commented, looking up at the night sky.
Lollipop replied, "My favorite kind of weather. Nice and cool..." Her reply mainly was so she could slip her hand into Bubble's without the latter even noticing, making it as if they were holding hands the entire time.
"So I'm assuming winter is your favorite season?" Bubble then asked, and Lollipop nodded. "I'm more of a summer person myself." She then explained, thinking about how they could maybe go to the beach or something when it was warm.
"I never really liked summer. It was always too hot. I prefer snowy and cold weather." Lollipop replied, moving her gaze from the night sky to Bubble. Bubble was honestly kind of cute like this. Was Lollipop starting to... like Bubble? She couldn't even tell at this point, though she did know she enjoyed her time with Bubble.
After some time of walking, they both had to go back to their team's fort. So at the doorway of the fort, Lollipop explained, "Well, honestly, I enjoyed tonight. I'm not sure if this is gonna last, but might as well make the most of it." She then took Bubble's other hand and did what Bubble had initially asked of her, giving her a kiss.
Bubble's face went completely red, as Lollipop then told her, "Now get some sleep. I'm sure Gelatin is panicking about why I'm not back, so I'm gonna go calm him down." Lollipop then walked back into the fort, leaving Bubble just standing out there.
After a minute or five, Leafy walked out there, and asked Bubble, who was still motionless, "Are you okay? You've been standing out here for a while now."
Bubble simply nodded, and told Leafy, "I-I'm better than okay. I think I'm in love." After that, Bubble went inside to go to sleep, which left Leafy immensely confused. It didn't matter if Bubble was voted out soon. She had gotten what she wanted the most today: Lollipop.
